Tldr: left before receiving service due to deceptive business practices and upcharging advertised price of product, despite posted price online and confirming over the phone
I had an appointment with Dr. Sabau at the Old Town Medspa, Naava River North location. We discussed what I was there for and what she would be providing. Upon telling me that she would be providing me a certain product (at 22 units) at the price posted online ($5 per unit), she then said that she dilutes the product and would be giving me approximately 60 diluted units of the product.
I asked how much of the product I would be receiving in total, because we had talked about and agreed upon 22 units, and she confirmed it would be 22 units of full product. I then stated that based on the price indicated online, and confirmed over the phone with me, I was expecting to pay $5 per unit, which would be approximately $110 total.
Dr. Sabau told me that even though I am receiving real 22 units and that the online price is $5 per unit, I would be expected to pay extra because she arbitrarily diluted the product to 2.5 times less than the full product, and would be responsible for approximately 60 of these diluted units. She continued to say that the online price is misleading and that it is more like $12 per unit to account for the diluted product they provide.
It is importantly to note that at no time while booking my appointment was I told the product would be diluted, nor was I told what the product was filled with meaning she was trying to give me an unknown substance along with the service I was there for.
I left shortly afterwards and while I don't know if this is an aspect of the company having deceptive practices and advertising, or if Dr. Sabau was going rogue and overcharging her customers, I left bewildered and completely unsatisfied over being flagrantly lied to, wasting my time coming to Old Town Medspa at the Naava location.
While I cannot speak to the quality of service because I left without continuing with my service, please beware this company and location that they were caught changing the advertised price...
Read moreI had an utterly disappointing and distressing experience with Dr. Shazel Gharbi, and I feel compelled to share my story to warn others considering his services.
I visited Dr. Shazel Gharbi for a filler treatment with a specific request for fillers that could be reversed if I ever changed my mind or experienced any complications. I emphasized the importance of this requirement during our consultation, and he assured me that he understood my concerns and recommended a particular filler.
Regrettably, after the procedure, I began to experience severe discomfort and was dissatisfied with the results. I decided to seek a second opinion from another reputable doctor to address the issues I was facing.
To my shock and dismay, the new doctor informed me that the filler used by Dr. Shazel Gharbi was NOT reversible. I was stunned. Dr. Shazel Gharbi had failed to inform me about the irreversible nature of the filler. This ordeal not only inflicted unnecessary physical discomfort but also it shattered my trust in the medical profession, as I had expected Dr. Shazel Gharbi to be forthright about the nature of the fillers used in my treatment.
I firmly believe that honesty, transparency, and patient well-being should be paramount in any medical practice. Dr. Shazel Gharbi fell significantly short in these aspects, causing me immense distress and inconvenience.
I sincerely hope that my experience serves as a cautionary tale for anyone contemplating cosmetic procedures. Always insist on clear and accurate information about the products and procedures being used, and ensure you fully understand the implications of your choices. My experience with Dr. Shazel Gharbi has left me deeply disillusioned and wary of trusting any medical professional without thorough research and...
Read moreI posted the same review on yelp so people will know about the sloppy job they do!:
Had my first Botox there from Groupon and liked the result so I decided to come back and paid the full price this time of $260. I had the same doctor but absolutely terrible result. I did my crow’s feet again and I know that Botox units should be injected in three areas under the eyes (I watched tons of videos about that, spoke to many of my friends who do that for years). He injected everything in one spot under my eyes in cheeks instead of those three areas what made my skin bleeding. Because of the amounts of Botox in the same spot now I look like bitten by bees when I smile (like one of those women with to much work and injections done on their face). I came for a follow up and told the doctor I wasn’t happy with the result. Told him he was supposed to spread the units evenly. He took it quite aggressive, started defending himself and told that Botox doesn’t cause swelling. He said that’s how I always was, pretty much born that way, so I shouldn’t complain and there is nothing he can do. Are you for real? Are you telling me that I always looked like I was bitten by bees in my cheeks and I never knew about it till I visited your office two weeks ago? Then I asked why he didn’t injected the units evenly and the way it should be. Guess his response!! - “I did! You just don’t remember that!” What is that? So he does remember that he injected in three area under my eyes and I don’t? I was planning to come to that place for other treatments but never again. Stay away from that place unless you want to look like...
