After spending over $6,000 on furniture at both this and other Room and Board stores I purchased a $1,300 sofa looked very sleek, and it does. However the sofa is impracticable to use for sitting. I've had it a year and the cushions have lost shape. I was informed by the store that I should just fluff them constantly as they have down in them and I have fluffed them. The shape comes back but as soon as you sit back down in them they go back to looking frumpy. The store gave me an option to buy different back cushions at $52 each and seat cushions at $136 each. So $376 to replace a $1,400 sofa. Further, I was provided with R&Bs "we stand behind the quality of our products" yet I have to pay for a big portion to make a sofa that's functional. Thanks R&B. I really like the look of items in this store. The prices, however, are at a premium which is perfectly alright if you are buying premium quality items. I purchased several items from this store over the years. The things you do not use often last forever. I did, however, purchase my dining room set from the store and all 6 chairs are destroyed with the first one breaking after about 4 yrs and little by little the rest followed suit. Room and Board also wouldn’t stand behind the products saying that they felt they lasted a reasonable amount of time. And by stand i mean they weren’t willing to do anything at all. I would recommend purchasing similar products at less expensive stores if they are not going to last. I think even getting chairs at ikea would’ve lasted longer than these chairs. We spent over 30 hours looking for a nice sized couch for our home. I am 6'4" while my main squeeze is a foot shorter. It proved a difficult task to find a couch that supported both our heights, a long enough chaise for me to comfortably put my feet up, and firm butt & lumbar support.
