When we found this place the reviews and pictures of food convinced us to pay it a visit. When we got there we had to wait for the three hostesses to figure our where to seat us, even when there we're plenty of seats available. I spotted a table by the window on the section to the side of the door (facing the stained glass). I noticed there were napkins on the other table in the section so didnt say much. Our lovely waiter came by and we ordered two michelada to start. Both were disappointing and flavorless. We then ordered the shareable plater that has dried taquitos, quesadillas, and nachos. We decided to select chicken for all. When we received, believe me when I say, chicken was served. The quesadilla was stuffed with chicken. Only good thing about the platter were the taquitos. Again, disappointing. To finish off, the hustle, and rumble on the 5 de Mayo day was annoying. The restaurant was empty and no need for so much panicking. What really killed the cool vibe the restaurant gives was the fact that they put the hostess and another waitress to wrap silverware on the table next to us. The chiming and constant noise they were making made me lose my appetite to order more. Not only were they wrapping them there but they were also gossiping about the workplace, how they were underpaid, overworked, and how it was hard to say no. Needless to say I was annoyed. I just asked for the check and walked out. Horrible experience.

Lourdes was a great waitress and made us feel welcome. Thanks to her attentive service we enjoyed a great team outing. The manager Felix on the other hand was very rude. One of our attendees dropped his margarita and the glass splatter on the floor thankfully nothing happened but as we asked for the manager Felix to either give us credit for the margarita or remove it from the bill he continued to give us a very bad attitude and speech. He said you are the ones who broke the glass so I don’t have to do anything. As I proceeded to say you are lucky he didn’t cut himself he then continue with his bad attitude. he ended up sending a margarita to our table but he didn’t have to make us change a great experience with Lourdes and the restaurant to a uncomfortable one and not a very good experience. Management should be train on proving a better service specially in downtown Chicago. By the way our bill was $422.00 dollars so is not like we wanted a free bill. If Felix treats customers like that I can’t imagine how he treats the employees. Entitlement is not welcome now a days and people with a lock of kindness should not be in the service industry they can work on a different industry where they don’t have to deal with customer or people In general. My biggest disappointment was how he didn’t show any concern on the broken glass or what could off have happened at his establishment. Thank you

Excellent Mexican food! First time we have eaten here, and we were really happy with it. We ordered the carnitas plate and the queso dip. The carnitas plate was really good, the portion sizes were excellent and comfortably served 2 people. The only thing we needed more of was the corn tortillas which were homemade in house and were fantastic. The pork itself was really tender and good. I see some other reviews have complained that it has no flavour, I don’t agree with this. Yes it could maybe have used a bit of salt, but when your putting it on a taco with other ingredients you want to be able to taste the flavour of the meat, and we certainly did, it was cooked perfectly. The queso dip was one of the best we ever had, wish the serving size was a tad larger however very happy with it. The tortilla chips and salsa that you get for the table is excellent, the salsa you could taste how fresh it was, a bit of a spicy kick too which was great, easily one of the best we’ve had. All in all this was a great place, portion sizes were good, staff was friendly, service was fast and prices were reasonable. We will definitely come back next time we are in Chicago.

You should never go to a restaurant and leave in tears. This place absolutely ruined my day. I made an order for pickup on DoorDash. When I got there I was ignored for awhile sitting at the bar. I have to get the bartender’s attention to tell him I’m there to pick up the order. I have the receipt on my phone, and as he is quickly walking by, just says we don’t have bean burritos anymore. Then he brings me the 1 page paper menu stating the menu changed, and I’ll have to pay more for a different item. I prepaid already online and showed him a picture of what I ordered. It is the meal which has 2 bean and cheese burritos with a side of rice and beans. So, he says okay, we’ll make you a bean burrito. I was expecting to get what I actually ordered, but what I got was just 1 bean burrito, no cheese, no rice & beans. So by the way, after I’m sitting there for a while, the guy never mentioned they don’t have the tamales that I paid $13 for. Like, I was just out of luck. I had to have an argument with the guy and say they have to give me something since I’ve already been charged. So I tell him I’ll take tacos instead. Never mind those were a lower priced item. They never offered me any compensation. I just want to leave and never return at this point so I’m not going argue about it. If I had not kept on them, I’m guessing they would have given me nothing. So, I also ordered queso dip and a guacamole. Like after I’m sitting there a half hour (after the original order was supposed to be ready) the guy comes out and says they don’t have any queso. At this point I’m ready to cry. He offers me double guacamole. I said okay. He then says to me, “This is not our fault.” Um, yes, this is the restaurant’s fault. They need to either fix their menu online or withdraw themselves from online ordering services until they can correct it. Just to add insult to injury, they never asked me if I wanted a drink, not even water, while I waited for a half hour during this whole debacle. I can’t even eat the food now. I’m afraid of what they might have done to it. As I left, I was singing Kelly Clarkson’s ‘Never Again’ in my head. I wished I would have just stayed home. This is officially my worst restaurant experience...

My family recently visited Su Casa this past Sunday, we just finished playing a game at the Escape Game across the street and we were given a voucher for $10 off, so we figured why now. We were greeted and seated quickly, it wasn't too busy, our server came in brought some water and chips n salsa. The chips were okay, they weren't fried tortilla chips, but similar to Tostitos, but not as good. The salsa had a kick, but a bit watery, I personally like my salsa chunky, but it wasn't bad. The menu is pretty straightforward, they have tacos, burritos, fajitas, and dinner plates. Prices vary, but on average you are at about $15 per person. The best bang for your buck in my opinion is the Carnitas Plate, you get a decent amount of food for the price. The taco plates are cool, I ordered the Steak Chimichurri Tacos, the meat was juicy, flavorful, and tender, however, the portion of rice and beans was small, and the corn tortillas were a bit dry. The flavor is there for the most part, but I feel the sides can be presented better and be a little bigger, the tacos are good, but could have had a better presentation. The service was good, nothing over the top, but they met our needs. Overall, for the location, the pricing, and portions, they are decent. I feel the portions for the sides could have been better at least a cup of each, and I feel the amount of protein/meat should be increased, there is more tortilla than...
