i debated on whether or not to leave a review here, but since most of the reviews are from a year+ ago, i thought it was worth it to detail my recent experience dealing with Macole. I moved to chicago in march 2024 and was so excited to find a new esthetician. After looking around the internet, I found skin skulpt spa. I cant deny they have good before & afters and i was very hopeful that I would receive amazing results from them. I booked my consultation in which Macole assessed my skincare goals and I was told i would need microneedling, so we set up an appointment for me to get that done. When i came in, we were talking and just catching up when i noticed something being applied that was stinging. I asked Macole what it was to which she replied "its a prep for a chemical peel." let me be clear.. we had NEVER discussed doing a peel before. I understand building rapport with your client but I feel a professional should be able to multitask doing that while also educating the client on whats being done throughout the treatment, step by step. I ended up having to get the product removed because i had a wedding i was a bridesmaid in a week after my appointment and I wouldn't have been done healing in time. I was then told that i had to do a chemical peel before i could start microneedling, which i felt should have been communicated long before my appointment. in the end, i ended up just doing a regular facial which means i spent $180 on an appointment that i didnt even need... I decided to let it go and scheduled an appointment for the chemical peel on a date where i knew i had time to heal. I was still hopeful that i could follow the treatment plan she recommended. Before i could get to that appointment, i was told by my job that i would need to re-locate. i reached out to macole via text to tell her i had to cancel because i was prepping for a move and would appreciate a refund on my deposit. Mind you i canceled my appointment with more than a weeks notice. She happily canceled but never refunded me my $80 deposit that you have to put down when you set up an appointment. after going back and forth for a little over a month, Macole stopped responding . I put in a dispute to try to get my deposit money back, and when i submitted the claim i realized that Macole BLOCKED my number and my social media accounts. Ive never experienced such unprofessionalism from someone... i was genuinely in disbelief. Here i was trying to support a black small business and i ended up getting got. I wish I could honestly find all the right words to express my gratitude for Skin Sculpt Spa. I found Macole when her business was just starting through a virtual consultation. I was at the time going through such a hard time with my skin, previous had cystic acne growing up. I was a dancer for 12 years so constantly competing meant constantly wearing makeup for HOURS a day. Growing up as a child my parents threw money to any dermatologist they could find, as I got older and moved out I continued to live with the hormonal breakout and never knowing how to control the constant mess going on with my skin. But one thing that the money couldn’t buy is a well seasoned educator. And that’s what Macole is. When you get treatment from Macole you are paying a price for a facial but leaving with so much more knowledge about your skin and a huge reality check on how you should’ve been cleansing your skin before, how you should’ve been applying your moisturizer before, how you should have been apply your SPF before. I’ve never been shy of spending any dime on the wellness of my skin, and I’m glad after countless attempts to so many other Esthician’s my road led me to Macole and I have never looked back since . I’ve received her services in my hotel rooms when I was in town in Dallas before a wedding, I’ve received her services in New York when she was in town — This woman is ‘ WorldWide’ as people say. But lastly, Macole cares — Although you are investing in her business and the services she is providing you she also reciprocates a length of care that is absolutely un-freaking heard of to find in this industry. And also , HER SKIN CARE LINE IS THE BOMB. I’m going on a month and once again, as a previous full time influencer, being sent the most expensive products on the market or just me myself buying them myself, going back to the basics of things is exactly what my skin needs. Skin Scupt Spa line is clean , fresh and truly is fraction of the cost of what you typically see out there and it’s FREAKING WORKS! She is as invested as you are, And that’s what makes this...
