Ok, honestly, though, where do I begin?? Best experience ever. We pulled up, and it seemed as though the place was closed. Well, we weren't surprised because we were told it's not tourist season. But we decided to still call the number on the door and see if there is any chance at all that they will have eBikes for rent. Well, oh my. The guy was there in 2 minutes! Unlocked the shop, and was so kind and patient with us while we decided between the white or the purple bikes š so he tells us which trail to take and what we must check out. We go through the trails he recommended, and oh my, it was all sooo beautiful! Well, we had to be back by a certain time to not miss our boar tour. Well, as my sister and I are driving back to return the bikes, we see him coming our way to check up on us and see if we're OK and not lost or whatnot. Like what?! Who does that? Who checks up on their clients to make sure they're OK? Yes, it was extremely cold for biking, and yes, we were tourists in the area. But that legit was the most amazing thing ever. He was so kind. Oh and even went out of his way to show us which shop to go to for a hat. Because, like I said, it was cold. Anyways... as we were driving back, we find out that the boat tour got canceled because not enough people booked. Like I said, it wasn't the season. But the owner of this bike shop, calls a local captain and asks him to take us out on the water!! I kid you not, you need to stop by this shop. And rent a bike. Oh I forgot to mentioned that I will probably never go on a regular bike again after trying an eBike š š those things are so cool. Such an awesome experience my sister and I had. So glad we stopped by. Thank you for making us feel extremely welcome...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe are return customers and while I wanted to give 5 stars I couldn't this time around. When we arrived at the shop to rent the bikes we found they were closed with a sign on the door at my other job til 2pm. This could be a result of being at the end of the prime season, but we stopped back at 2 and rented 2 E-Bikes for 4 hours and headed out to Assateague, well about 2 miles down the road I hit a bump and the handlebars broke loose and I came crashing down on the neck/stem of the bike, fortunately I didn't wreck and it didn't happen in traffic. I turned around and got the bike back to the shop and where I had a less pleasant stop, it was hard to keep the handlebars in any place. The worker swapped out the bike and I off I went. When I caught back up with my wife we started to ride the wildlife loop but it became uncomfortable to ride because where I hit the neck/stem of the bike was starting to hurt. so we returned the bikes after only an hour of the 4-hour rental. The worker was sorry but offered nothing more to my wife (she took the helmets in). I reached out to the owner and explained what happened, he was extremely sorry and offered to make things right (for the record I was willing to pay for the hour we had the bikes, because things happen, but the owner refunded the whole rental). Overall this was bad experience but I would rent from them again and accidents happen and maintenance issues, happen, it's all about how the business handles it afterwards. I'd have given 4 stars if the employee had made things right and we didn't have to reach out...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy young adult children and I visited Chincoteague for 3 days and we rented the e-bikes for a few hours on 2 of those days. My kids and I have been on boats, skiing, wave runners, parasailing, hiking, and kayaking but these e-bikes were by far our favorite activity we have ever done together. The e-bikes work like a regular bike if you wish, so you do get plenty of exercise OR if it's windy or your just tired you can use the throttle and get some assistance to make it easy. We were able to cover the entire island on these e-bikes and I'm certain we wouldn't have been able to do that on a regular bike. Having the e-bikes allowed us to get up close to everything we wanted to see and yes, lots of ponies! The folks at this establishment are so friendly and kind. Also, I must let you know that my 21 year old son was zooming along on his bike and stopped hard and fast (typical boy) in front of his girlfriend causing her to crash her bike into his. Nobody was seriously injured but it did cause some minor scrapes to the bikes and broke the power switch button on one bike. These guys were kind enough to not charge me anything for that mishap. If you are planning to visit Chincoteague you simply must do yourself a favor and rent an e-bike from these guys!...
