We ate here twice in one week and enjoyed it both times. The staff was friendly and inviting, but we did sometimes feel a bit forgotten on one of our visits, more or less needing to flag our server down to ask for drink refills, but chalked that up to it being a rather busy night. The other time, our waitress was on point and very attentive. Overall, though, both were friendly, helpful, professional and kind.
The food is generally good, but with a few very noticeable flaws, and prices seem on par with portion size, with exception of the cheesesteak, which was tasty, but was all bread and very little meat (Being from PA, we may be a little biased on this one, though). The spaghetti was average, but who, besides my picky teenage daughter, orders spaghetti at a restaurant? Meanwhile, my other daughter had a burger that she quite enjoyed, and my gyro was one of the best I've ever had, and I've had many. I should have ordered a few to take home and freeze, they were so delicious.
On our second visit, we ordered pizza, and it made us wonder why in the world a restaurant would include pizza in their name when it's the weakest item on their menu. Sorry to the wonderful staff, but the pizza here is just drab. I would wonder is we were just used to our local fare, but we make it a point to try 2 things at any restaurant we can when we travel - pizza and mozzarella sticks. (The mozz sticks here were above average, very good, btw)
We ordered a large plain and a small white pizza with spinach, mushrooms, and grilled chicken. The cheese on both was ok, but certainly didn't taste like the robust blend they boast on the menu. Even Little Caesars has a more complex flavor than this plain jane pie topper and they just add Muenster. The sauce was a little too sweet, but otherwise passable.
Unfortunately, nothing could possibly make up for the boring, flavorless crust. I've never had pizza with crust that almost seemed to avoid detection before, lacking both flavor and texture at the sams time. Think Elios made in a toaster oven, only with less razzle dazzle.
I know my review seems negative, but it's really not meant to be. After all, I did say we ate here twice. We will eat here again on our next visit to the island, but will avoid the pizza. Otherwise, this is a very nice restaurant with decent food and good prices, a very comfortable dining room, and some of the nicest staff you...
Read moreAs all reviews should highlight, I will be commenting on everything from the parking lot to the bathrooms. First things first, the parking lot. The parking lot had angled parking spots, making it difficult to comfortably pull your car in without the fear of getting hit by the cars parked beside you. The parking lot itself was small as well. Upon walking in, my family and I were greeted and were told we could sit anywhere we wanted, which was nice. However, on our way to our table, we couldn't help but notice the outdated crumb infested carpet and outdated decor. The carpet looked like hadn't been cleaned in weeks, and the atmosphere was dark and shabby. After sitting down, we ordered toasted raviolis, a 18 inch cheese pizza, and hot honey old bay wings. My father told me that the wings were delicious. However, it came with a single tiny piece of celery, which my father thought was absolutely comical. The pizza was not very good though, it was greasy and the crust tasted like burnt popcorn. It had the consistency of a cracker and was extremely salty. The toasted raviolis were not toasted they were rather soggy, as if they were cooked in a microwave. Over the course of this meal, my brother had to go to the bathroom. The first thing he saw upon entering the bathroom was graffiti on the bathroom stalls. The bathroom was very clastrophobic and there was vomit in the toilet, probably from someone who just ate the pizza. Not only was there vomit in the toilet, there was also urine all over the floor. Overall the bathroom was very dirty and neglected. Finally, the only saving grace, the service. Our server was nice and was very quick to take our order. She was fast to bring both our food and our drinks out. Overall, would not recommend coming to this Ledo's Pizza, have had great experiences at other Ledo's Pizza chains in Maryland this branch is by far the worst my family...
Read moreThe restaurant has a long-standing reputation. Everything inside seems to be original, like the old plastic table cloth that was rubbing my legs the entire time, which felt quite gross considering no one ever cleans that part.
The server was mediocre at best she didn't seem to really care about us, which was evident by never checking in on us.
The pizza was crispy but was lacking flavor. As many other reviewers have stated, salt was needed to be added!
The spicy ravioli was fantastic. They were crispy with a lot of flavor. The marinara sauce that came with them was also a very nice complement to the ravioli and really brought out the flavors.
(See attached photo) The spaghetti and meatballs.... this was the real downfall. The noodles were entirely WAYYYYY overcooked, far from al dente. The sauce that was on there was meh at best, and the worst part of the sauce was really the lack of sauce. There wasn't enough to really coat the pasta or be able to have sauce with all of the dish. Now, the worst part about the entire dish was the meatballs. They were sad, the flavor was absolutely terrible, I couldn't put my finger on it but it almost seemed like old meat was used. I was there with my family and would not let them eat the dish as I felt something was wrong with it.
I would have complained about the dish, but again, the server never checked on us nor seemed to care.
If I were you I would avoid it. I definitely will not...
