Atlantic Shores Inn & Suites isn’t a 5-star luxury hotel, but it definitely checks all the boxes for comfort, cleanliness, and convenience. The location is perfect—right in the city center and conveniently next to Steamers, a great seafood restaurant where we had dinner. We arrived after hours when the lobby was closed, and check-in was still quick and easy (we called during operating hours to let them know we’d be arriving late). Our room was clean and comfortable. We stayed in a double room (note the beds are full size, but I (5’1”) and my partner (6’4”) fit snug). The A/C worked great, and the ice machine was right across from the lobby building. The pool was a nice bonus, ranging from 3 ft to about 6.5 ft. Breakfast had a solid variety: hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, bagels, cereal, a waffle maker, Pop-Tarts, granola/nuts, fresh fruit like bananas, and of course coffee. You could enjoy it inside or outside on the comfy patio seating right by the lobby and across from the pool, which was also convenient for pizza delivery. The highlight of our stay was the hospitality—Owner Noel kindly allowed us a late checkout (2 pm), which made it so much easier after our last beach day. Service and hospitality were truly 10/10. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a clean, family-friendly, and affordable stay in Chincoteague!

This was the dirtiest hotel I’ve ever stayed at & I wish I would have taken more photos since the location & rooms did not look AT ALL like the photos online. The room looked like it was still being renovated. The bathroom door wouldn’t close. The shower curtain rod was not installed correctly, so when I went to wipe up the water that got all over the bathroom floor, the towel was black. We couldn’t go barefoot due to the dirty floors. There was no bathmatt- & the shower was so slippery that I almost fell. There were exposed pipes & mold in the bathroom. The railings to hang clothes were absolutely disgusting so we didn’t hang anything. The air conditioner was so loud even on the lowest setting that it kept me up all night. If you aren’t lucky enough to get a spot in the small parking lot, you had to go down the street & park on the side of the road in a grassy area. The room was advertised online as having a plug near the bed- there wasn’t one. We had a “do not disturb” sign on the door- the maid who did not speak very good English kept knocking. I have seen other reviews that have experienced similar things that we did , or worse. The ONLY good thing about this hotel was it was so close to everything. Next time I visit, I’m definitely spending more money to stay in a nice, clean hotel.

I was a little hesitant when none of the posted phone numbers listed for the motel worked. Once I realized I needed to book this thru Airbnb, everything was easy since I have used Airbnb before. There's no need to pay the exorbitant amounts the waterfront hotels are asking. Atlantic Shores is a clean, no frills motel. It's centrally located which makes it very walkable to several restaurants, and shops. I had asked for a first floor room due to health reasons, and Brenda made sure that I had that as well as a mini-fridge and microwave. Several members of my family came to Chincoteague to celebrate the wedding of a beloved niece. We didn't realize it was the pony round-up weekend, so the island was busier than usual for the end of Sept. My room was fairly updated. I saw a room in another motel close-by, mine was nicer and had a larger bathroom. The beds and pillows are VERY comfortable. Again, the room was clean with everything described in the listing. I felt safe and they even had the pool open, bonus! Please note; my photos were taken after I had unpacked and moved into the room. Sorry if it's messy ya'll. That's all me, the room was NOT messy when I arrived. ;-) Thanks for a nice stay.

Where to begin 🤔, first let's start with STAFF: Positive: the gm the whole time I was there seemed like a good guy, he seemed to always be doing something to try and maintain to property. The majority of the other staff but when you did they were friendly enough. Cons: they have a younger staff lack any sort of customer service skills

LOCATION: PROS: it is near many attractions Cons: it is on the main road. Very loud. No view. Very congested.

PROPERTY: PROS: right on the main road. Cons: out dated, in desperate need of over haul and better maintenance. Except for the pool area not really handicap friendly. Walkways are concrete on both upper and lower floors. These walkways have chips, cracks, and are slanted in some areas. The wood railings are warded, weather warn and have peeling paint. Also not facilities fault but the whole time there you could smell marijuana at all times of the day.

Room: Suite: i can not speak for them i stayed in the inn section. Inn: first thing to note is they do not do up keep on your room for "liability purposes". PROS: As for the room it was fairly clean. Sheets appeared clean. No sign of any kind of infestation. CONS: had an odd smell, not unpleasant but not good. The floors and ceiling were warped. Bathroom door did not close right. Stains on mattress. Out dated as the rest of the property.

AMENITIES: PROS: the complementary breakfast bar though small is surprisingly quite nice. The pool is clean. CON: Pool could use some TLC/repairs. Right by the main road. Very loud during the day.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: NEEDS WORK!!!!

STORY TIME: first and foremost I am fully aware of any arrangement I sign while i was at this facility and they are not liable for any stolen or lost/forgotten items. HOWEVER, this does NOT mean you shouldn't work with you clientele. When leaving the Atlantic shores inn and suites (which is more like a motel than anything else) my wife left a very expensive pillow in the room. Now I did not realize this till we were about 30 min from home. So, naturally I called the inn to explain the situation. A very arrogant young man answered the phone and confirmed they did indeed find the pillow and had it there with them. I explained we were hours away and asked them to mail it to my address. Note I was fully ready to pay or reimburse for any and all shipping fees. I explained that to the man on the phone ( who by the way kept delaying putting me in touch with the gm stating he was "busy") and still he refused to accommodate to my request, which would cost them nothing. There reason being they won't run a card that's not there, even though my id, card info, and phone number were all in there system from when I booked the room, which would confirm who I am.

CONCLUSION: Atlantic shores inn and suites should be changed to Atlantic shores motel. The staff puts on a false facade of good customer service until it is actually needed! Is in desperate need of an over haul. Safety is questionable with some of the clientele is draw with its prices. If this is all you can afford so be it but if you can, find another spot. There is a reason it is sitting a 3.7 star as of...

So, my family and I are still here for 2 more nights. We checked in earlier today (Mon 7/25) for Pony Penning Week. However, I feel the need to post immediately. We arrived around 1:30p and asked the front desk woman if we could check-in early. She happily obliged, her name was Camilla. We get to the room to unload and immediately notice a strong, cheap cleaning product scent… it was enough to make my eyes burn. We left the door open for a bit, but it did not remedy the situation. 2nd, after looking around we notice that the hotel room is in pretty bad shape. There are horrible water damage marks on the wall and trim directly under the beds, the ceiling is literally about to implode over us, the tub is dirty and slimy, the floor is sticky, as well as nasty hairs and dirt swept into the corners, but not actually cleaned up, the air conditioning unit is full of black mold, etc. I really was so excited to give this place a chance, because it truly is the perfect location, and I believed that the staff and owners would be nice as mentioned, but I’m literally struggling to breathe and so uncomfortable as I lay in this bed right now. The sheets even feel grimy, as if they weren’t properly washed. I just feel so so bad here and am so upset. This dump was $200 per night. We had asked Camilla earlier if we could switch rooms to ANYTHING slightly better, because I am allergic to mildew and mold - she informed us that all the rooms were booked and that we could check back tomorrow. Not that I don’t believe her, but almost every room next door and below us is not rented… we can see directly in the windows. I’m hoping we can fix all of this tomorrow, otherwise, I will have to standby my current feelings and say AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS IF YOU VALUE YOUR HEALTH. I seriously feel so ill that I want to cry....
