Dollar General — Local services in Chincoteague

I LOVE SHOPPING THESE STORES. PRICES HELP MANAGE A TIGHT BUDGET AND RARELY HAVE I ENCOUNTERED AN UNFRIENDLY EMPLOYEE. YES THE STORE IS MESSY AT TIMES BUT IN EMPLOYEES DEFENSE THE STORE IS WAY TOO SMALL FOR PRODUCT AND PUBLIC NAVIGATING THE ISLES. THE STOCK ROOM FOR PRODUCTS IS EXTREMELY SMALL AND DIFFICULT FOR EMPLOYEES TO DEAL WITH DELIVERY TRUCK AND STOCKING SHELVES . THESE WORKING CONDITIONS ARE PHYSICALL DEMANDING ON EMPLOYEES AND IN MY OPINION JUST ASKING FOR AN EMPLOYEE INJURY. THE SUMMER BUSINESS IS EXTREMELY HIGH VOLUME DUE TO TOURIST SEASON AND DOLLAR GENERAL SHOULD HIRE STOCKERS BECAUSE CASHIERS & MANAGERS ARE VERY BUSY. ALSO IF YOU CAN'T REACH AN ITEM YOU MUST ASK A BUSY EMPLOYEE FOR HELP IN OBTAINING A PRODUCT OR CHECK IF EMPTY SHELF HAS ANY PRODUCT LEFT IN STOCK ROOM. DOLLAR GENERAL SHOULD TAKE MORE CONCERN IN THE NEEDS OF THEIR EMPLOYEES AND THE NEEDS OF THEIR STORES TO BETTER SERVE THE PUBLIC. THANK YOU,...

This store is always messy and disorganized. It is hard to find an employee other than the cashier. That being said, it is our go-to place to pick up everything we forgot to bring to the island. Today we picked up a set of bedsheets, a power strip, and sugar for our morning coffee. Last trip we bought cheap bathmats at Dollar General because our rental home didn't supply them. I will start by saying it’s not a perfect store. However for the things you need when you are on the island, it is perfect. It’s a dollar general. People have something to complain about everything.
