A woman by the name of Margaret answered the phone on July 16,2018 at 7:46pm and 7:51pm. During the first call, she spoke with my son who was inquiring about swim fins that the website said were available instore. She kept insisting he give her the SKU number which he attempted to do but could not locate. He couldnât even understand what she was asking for because she wouldnât spell it out, presuming everyone knows what a âskewâ number is. Her tone of voice was âcouldnât care lessâ and my son had to finally say after the nth time she said âthe skew number, the skew numberâ, âI canât understand what youâre saying. I donât even know what that is.â She gave terrible customer service because she was not being helpful by actually helping the customer. So my son simply told her heâd call her back. I called back after finding the SKU number. Margaret answered again. I gave her the number. She went to check. Returned. Simply said it isnât in store. I told her that online it said it was in store at her Chino branch. Her reply simply stated it isnât. No apology. No alternatives. I asked if they would have stock again. Didnât know. Said seasonâs almost over. I asked her name. Told her that when she spoke with my son earlier she was not helpful, rude even, which is why I called this time around. She insisted she was. Told her her customer service was not good because she kept insisting on something she presumed everyone knows and made no attempt to actually explain clearly or be helpful. She insisted she had been helpful. I told her clearly we donât think so and since we are the customers she ought to consider stepping it up. " Sorry no returns since the original package is gone, that's our policy." The lady told me. I said:" no, I did not ask for a return, just to exchange it. " she said:" same , no original package on it, no returns or exchanges. " She did not even bother to check the condition of the item, and throw me a piece of paper, " here, this is our return policy". I did not shop at Big 5 Sporting Goods quite often before, with the experience, I am sure I will NEVER shop here again. There are so many stores for Sporting merchandise with competitive price and service, good luck Big 5, hope your business with this kind of service and employees can survive...
   Read moreI went to Big 5 because I needed 3 matching soccer balls size 4 (not an easy task because size 4 is for younger kids) and I was greeted with a hello and a smile . I was helped by Victor who grabbed a latter and climbed all the way to the top shelf in search for the 3 matching soccer balls but was only able to find 2. Victor went out of his way to call another store "Chino" and had them put on hold for me. Did I mention that Victor honored a sale price that had already expired AND got me the sale price at the other store as well ? Btw ... the day before , I had gone to that other place the rhymes Rick's Sporting Goods and got Zero help after being there for over half an hour.... I will never go back to Rick's .
