Game itself is outstanding, all seats are pretty good, and prices are about what you would expect for minor league hockey. I would rate the Cyclones game experience better if:

  1. Sound system was improved. In many places within the arena, the announcements were muffled and bass-heavy, as if the announcer was broadcasting from somewhere in the basement with the volume turned all the way up. 2.) Concessions were slow, understaffed, undertrained, under supplied, and low quality. This was my MAJOR complaint about the Cyclones game. My recommendation for anyone is do NOT eat anything at a Cyclones game. You will stand in line for 20 minutes for anything, and when you do get your order you'll wish you had skipped it all together. The tots and chicken tenders are so salty that I compared it to eating a mouthful of sand. The burger I sampled tasted like it was cooked last week. The arena didn't even have any of the advertised pizza because of a contract dispute of some kind, and the soft pretzels were more rubbery than a car tire. DO NOT EAT when going to a Cyclones game -- eat beforehand, or wait until...

We have been season ticket holders for almost 25 years now and during that time we have made almost every first game of the year. Last night when we arrived there was a season ticket line wrapped all the way around to the front entrance from the East parking garage side. By far, this was the longest line we have seen to get into the building.

This was one of the best games we have seen in a long time. The atmosphere seemed different. Yes we were all excited to see our friends since last season. However, this feeling of a team is one of those I haven't had since the last time we won the Kelly Cup. We have had great teams since then but this team seems special. They were actually playing as a team and having fun. To be down 0-2 and come back and win 5-2 was spectacular!

I hope that we can keep the core group of this team for the entire year and make adjustments as many of these players get called up to the AHL throughout the season. I have a feeling this is going to be one of our best seasons ever!

Thank you Cylones for a great night and here's to many more this season.

Let's...

This was my first hockey game in Cincinnati. We live in Michigan (Red wings). The atmosphere was great but very disappointed with concession prices. False advertisement. I bought two pinacolada drinks in "Tiki Size". The price on the board said $19. My total for 2 drinks was $69. I already swiped my card before seeing the price then asked why it was so high. Cashier told me drinks were $30 each. I said the sign says 19. He said that is without alcohol. The sign does not say non alcoholic drinks. Honestly the biggest rip off I've ever seen. I also didn't ask for banana yet it was added to my drink. Im allergic so I took it back. He dumped it then re made my drink. We were told the "tiki gets 3 shots", I only saw 2. I've been to many venues in Michigan and I've never paid $30 for a drink. The amount I paid for these drinks dampened my experience. Wish I didn't feel like I got ripped off. I was also shocked that there are no handrails anywhere inside the venue. Very steep stairs and not easy to get...
