DO NOT TRY TO MOVE INTO THIS COMMUNITY IF YOUR FINANCIAL HISTORY IS NOT THE BEST❗️
Normally, when I review places, I give 5 stars, even if things weren't 100% upon my arrival.
I am aware that when apartment complexes are at 80-90% leased, they can be very picky at who they allow to move in. I am also aware that rental companies can use whatever parameter to decide my rental worthiness as long as it doesn't defy the equal housing opportunity guidelines...
Around the end of August, I met the wonderful, well, respectful property manager, Cary. He gave me a tour, which I thought the building was very beautiful, nice amenities, which made me apply to live here. Upfront requirements were 3× the rent, no prior evictions of 7 years, no owed debts to other rental/utility companies, and no major criminal background. Upon application, I was very confident that I would be accepted as a community member as all requirements were met.
My application was then denied for a housing court matter and three other instances that had NOTHING to do with the upfront requirements. I spoke with Cary to see what I could do to better my chances of application approval. He first told me that the housing court matter was the only issue holding me back from approval. I fought very hard, paid a bit of money to resolve the claim, then disputed the issue and was able to have it removed from my background check since this was falsely reported.
I reapplied, which Cary suggested to me to do after the dispute (spent another $50 dollars), was denied again. Cary told me a whole new reason that this time, it was for credit account charge offs that most, if not all, have been paid in full that still remain on my account from 4-5 years ago.
I have applied elsewhere, and accepted residency to a different high-end apartment building downtown. I asked Cary if he would be able to move past the computer screen and assess my situation through what I can do to prove rental worthiness beyond the flaws of my past, he said NO.
With other apartment communities accepting me despite the financial mistakes I've made and fixed of my long past, it made me wonder why fight hard to live here and this property that does not want me here? I understand completely that there is a process, and this property can use whatever parameter to decide my worthiness to live here. But for me to meet all of the upfront requirements and still get denied for the mistakes non-criminal/civil related I've fixed years ago completely disturbs me.
I will not recommend anyone to live here as this place hand picks mint-perfect background checks...
Read moreOk now, the textile apartments have went and truly undone everything they have struggled to achieve by doing what I feel is one of the most counterproductive acts that a company can do not only to an employee, but to their tenants as well. I just got a call from a very close friend that told me that Mr. Adam, The maintenance supervisor that I had the pleasure of meeting on my trip out to Cincinnati would soon no longer be Caring for the building, which in turn means not caring for the tenants any longer. I really don’t care who’s bright decision that was, but I know that it will carry some severe consequences . Since the last time I wrote my stingy five star review I have Heard stories of Adam handling a drunken bengals player out of the building that was harassing a tenant As well as dealing with various situations that my friend hoped would be eliminated by moving into what was considered a luxury apartment for the price that she pays. She confided in me that she will soon vacate the textile apartments and is encouraging others to do the same. Without a sense of security brought on by someone who not only treats this building as if they own it, but never hesitates to handle a situation day or night is completely unacceptable. I’m sure the owners will undoubtedly try and convince the tenants to stay on and keep faith in the service provided to them by other means. I for one do not believe owners when it comes to what is best for the tenants that’s why there are leasing, managers, and maintenance managers because they know these buildings inside and out you show me one owner who lives here. Shame on you, textile for not only be behaving in such a poor manner and placing your tenants at an increased risk, but to do it at the cost of the tenant safety and bottom line is what your true motivation is what this is all about. exceptional service and the people who provide it are what truly make this a home to people like my friend, and she has assured me that she refuses to live anywhere where her well-being is not the top priority of her housing community, and it’s staff . Mr. Adam, my friend and I wish the best for you and yours as you move on to bless a complex that is worthy of your support and...
Read moreJust a few days ago, I would have given this place a 5 star review.
I’ve lived at Textile Apartments for over a year, and up until recently, I would’ve said the maintenance here was the best I’ve ever experienced. That’s entirely because of Adam. He’s been the most reliable, communicative, and genuinely helpful person connected to this building, often doing far more than his job required.
From personally overseeing extensive HVAC work in our unit, to responding to late-night emergencies within minutes, to opening the package room on his own time, Adam has been the only consistent part of this building I could count on.
A major reason Textile stood out among other apartment buildings is that Adam actually lives here. It gave us real peace of mind knowing there was someone on-site 24/7 who genuinely cared and was available in case of emergencies. That level of presence and dedication is rare, and something you can’t replace with outsourced maintenance or automated emails.
When my truck was broken into in the Whex garage over the winter, Adam went out of his way to help me. While I was waiting for the police in the lobby late at night, he checked in on me, gave me contact info for a safer garage, and helped me get a spot there immediately.
He’s the reason we re-signed our lease. Without him, our experience here would have been below average, with multiple safety and maintenance issues. I’ve never met a building staff member more dedicated or more respected by residents.
What’s most frustrating is that Textile is owned and managed by a large, out-of-state property group that clearly has no real understanding of what happens day to day in this building. Firing Adam, the most essential person here, feels reckless and out of touch. Residents are now left feeling uncertain, frustrated, and unsupported. We’re genuinely worried about the future of this building, and unless something changes, we likely won’t renew our lease.
If you’re considering living here, look somewhere else. It won’t be what it used to be...
