Matt is an expert in coverups and achieved the impossible - he somehow turned a black, dense shape into a beautiful, small, traditional and meaningful piece that I love. I'm actually really happy that my original tattoo wasn't ideal, because I never would have had the tattoo I do now. Matt dealt with so much back and forth with me about the design with patience and grace, and had the bedside manner of a saint as I cursed and talked his ear off during the pain of a really spicy spot (near my heel, which is a biotch no matter who you go to). While I love, trust, and recommend all 12+ artists I have worked with through the years, Matt stands out as someone who really puts your happiness and comfort first. He's just got really good, positive energy and is someone you can trust. I never usually write reviews but this honestly deserves one. I went in for a simple labret piercing. Nothing fancy. The piercer ,Stevana, seemed confident in doing it for me; even said I had the perfect lip shape for it. Awesome, right? My first warning sign was how much she was shaking before piercing me. While she was moving my lip around she was quite literally trembling. In goes the needle, well, halfway; still shaking like a leaf. And then finally about 30 seconds later the whole needle made its way through. What should have been a piercing done in one quick swift movement was an unnecessarily painful experience. But that’s not even the best part. It’s soooo off centered, and no, it’s not because it’s swollen. She completely messed it up. I’m over the top mad that I have to let this heal and spend more money somewhere else to get it pierced the right way. Do yourself a favor and go...

First off the shop is located in a nice area of Beacon with lots of great restaurants and little shops. So if Beacon is a trek for you, you can make a day of it. The shop itself is really rad and the minute you step inside you immediately feel welcome.

Matt is a super talented artist. I have a half sleeve and 6 pieces of artwork done by him with plans for more so I think that should tell you how much I trust him and love his work. My Fiance also has a collection of Matt's art as well in the form of a half sleeve on one arm and a full sleeve on the other which is in the processed of being finished.
