Two stars because there are some redeeming qualities: lines move quickly, store is relatively clean, staff is relatively nice.
I didn’t want to write this review. I really don’t like writing negative reviews because as a small business owner myself I know how much hard work it is. But I’m just so tired of the rotten produce here, tonight was the straw that broke my back. Searched for a few minutes to find an apple that didn’t look damaged and it’s still completely rotten inside. So disappointing.
We usually go to Hannaford’s or adams for produce because things here just feel soft to the touch, wrinkly, and generally old and stale. Arugula usually goes bad the next day, same with spinach.
I also don’t understand their pricing, or why things are so much more than other places. The same yogurt I get at target is at least 30% higher here. Maybe there are additional taxes or overhead in Beacon…otherwise it seems like there is no rhyme or reason.
It’s so frustrating because it’s the only place open in the evening (I really like the natural market when I can get to it / can afford it) and if I need something in a pinch I have to come here. I think another grocery store in Beacon could really help not just the customers, but also Key Foods be more on top...
Read moreMay 16 Owners allowed a man with no mask to shop and buy things from the deli. He went through every isle with his daughter. Did not give more than two feet while passing people. Disappointed.
Former rating- store has a good amount of selection. Organic section. The produce is hit or miss, mostly can't move it fast enough and it's often over ripe. The facility was, I believe, pioneer in the mid century. It has beautiful large glass windows in the front with a neat cart rack but the building condition is poor. The original ceiling tiles are over painted with glossy off white, some missing. The floor is blank linolium with some faux wood patter as an attempt to enter the 21st century. In my dreams it will be as cute and functional as food town in cold spring. I was thinking a steel beam could be added to remove the red poles that are in the middle of the aisle.
This is our town grocery so I believe I supporting it. But I hope they invest in it's...
Read moreThank you J.B. and the cashier who found my wallet!! I am so very grateful to you both and can certainly speak to the customer service at this Key Foods. They go WAY above and beyond! After searching at home, I drove back to the Key Foods only to learn that J.B., one of the owners of the store, was on his way to my home to bring it back to me. Thinking I would make it easier for him, I told the folks at the store that I would wait at the store (only a 5 minute drive from my house). After waiting some time, I asked if everything was okay – only to learn he had walked to my home! I offered to pick him up, but he then walked into the store. I told him I was going to offer him gas money because I thought he was driving, and he refused and said to “pay it forward.” Indeed, I will, but not without expressing my gratitude for J.B. and the cashier who clearly care about their...
