The customer service at this location is an absolute joke. My experience went like this:: I had purchased a pair of Brooks for $150 at another Dicks location. The associate at that location that helped me with the the shoes said that if I did not like them I could return them, worn or not, as long as it’s within 60 days. When he initially told me this my husband and I both questioned him regarding the policy on returning worn shoes. And multiple times the associate said absolutely, they can be returned worn or not within 60 days. Awesome, right? $150 is a lot of money to drop on a pair of shoes on just a recommendation that they will make a difference for walking on concrete 10 hours a day. So I purchased the shoes, wore them to my work(indoors), over the next month. After I wore them thee first time my feet, sadly felt no different than in my Nike’s. So I only wore them maybe 5 times after that. Definitely not $100 difference in performance for me. So I went to this Dicks location to return the shoes. Initially, I spoke to a younger lady, probably mid twenties, took the shoe out of the box, looked at it, and kinda laughed saying “Umm, we aren’t going to be able to take these” so I explained the story of the other associate saying I could return worn shoes. So she proceeded to page a manager and ask them. While waiting to ask, she is talking to me and says “what didn’t you like about them?, these are my favorite” in degrading tone. Also she points to the back of the receipt in no specific area stating it says you can’t return worn shoes. Manager gets back to her stating the same, they won’t accept worn shoes. Whatever, so I go out to my car to leave. And before doing so I decide to read the back of the receipt. I’m surprised to see that it says NOTHING about returning shoes. It says the full return policy is online at dicks.con/returns. So I head there, read the full policy, again NOTHING about returning shoes. At this point, I go back inside the store and ended up speaking to a different cashier named Derek. Again rude regarding the situation. He looks over the back of the receipt which I told him says nothing of the “worn shoe policy” after about a full minute skimming over the receipt he comes up with this excuse “Oh well right here it does say WE RESERVE THE RIGHT TO LIMIT RETURNS OR EXCHANGES REGARDLESS OF RECEIPT” Really? So what you’re saying is you just don’t want to accept the return. And you’ll find any reason/excuse to not allow me the return. So finally after he repeats that multiple times, I look at Derek and say “Are you at manager?” He says “Well I am the Front End...” and then trails off so basically no he’s not a manger. So I then ask to speak to an actual manager. I wait a few minutes then a manager comes up to the counter. Pretty sure his name was Brian, not 100% positive though. Older, dark headed balding guy. He says to me “No one should have ever told you that you could return them worn” So politely I stated that I was within all the guidelines of allowable returns. No where on the receipt nor online does it state anything concerning shoes. So he basically beats around the bush just saying I shouldn’t have been told that. Then he looks to Derek and tells him just to return them as defective. And walks away. Very rude and unprofessional. I don’t understand why all 3 of the people I dealt with had to be so rude about it. They acted like the returned money would come out of their pocket. The shoes weren’t even dirty in the first place. Could easily be wiped off. I mean they were only worn a handful of times in an indoor environment. Anyway I did end up getting to return the shoes. It’s been two days however and still the money hasn’t been returned to my account. 🤔🤔 I’m wondering if that’s a bank thing or if Dicks is trying to get the final word. I’ll wait a few more days before I start calling. And ultimately I’ll be contacting someone higher up than the manager of...
Read moreOrdered a pair a Nike Vapormax online for store pickup. Get to the store for pickup, get the box outside and there were an old beat up used pair of Air Force Ones in the box. Obviously no one checked the order before I came out to pick it up. No one had an explanation, nor did anyone including management apologize for the huge inconvenience, as I do not live anywhere close to the store.
Pitiful, bad customer service, non-caring staff and management. Huge disappointment, but they don't care because it didn't effect...
Read moreI drove from Indianapolis to pick up 2 kayaks that I had ordered online. Everyone that I dealt with at the store was so very nice and helpful. I had made an error when I placed my order online. Everyone jumped in to help find my order and complete my transaction. I would recommend the store to anybody in that area or even if you live out of town it is well worth it to make the drive. We are building a cabin close by so I will definitely be going back to the store for my...
