I am so disgusted with this store. I just left the store with my 13 year old daughter. This was her first experience in a make up store. I am a mother of three. I was not I guess dressed to impress I had on a T-shirt, a hat, sandals, and leggings. I had just picked up my daughter from school practice to take her to this store so that she could get make up for the first time. When we entered the store we were greeted, and moments later, we were approached by a white woman who offered a basket. I initially thought this was an act of kindness until later maybe two minutes later, I went to look up to look for the lady to ask for help, but I noticed a black woman that worked at the store following my daughter and I. I could not have a conversation with my daughter about the different makeup because I was so distracted by the lady following us around the store, I said a prayer my head, “Lord please do not let my child see this woman following us”. I looked up again and there she was…, again! I turned around there she was again. So I said “why is this lady following us around this store”, in a volume that she could hear me she respond can I help you with anything? I said no we don’t need any help with anything, literally someone else just asked, we are good. The lady walked off but I felt so uncomfortable that I told my daughter we were leaving. When we got in the car I had to have a conversation with her because of this. I asked her did she feel anything while we were in the store. Unfortunately, my daughter noticed the lady following us around the store. My daughter noticed the black woman following us around the store!!! As if we were going to steal something or we look suspicious. Again I am a mother of three on a Tuesday afternoon, after working, and running around to get kid here and there, and picking up my 13-year-old from school practice to take her to a store that I expected to be welcome into. I expected to have a great experience in the store as I have any other time in other stores! I love Ultra in Murfreesboro where I previously lived. But unfortunately that is not the case for this little Clarksville store. We did not feel comfortable shopping in the store. I had to explain to my daughter What she felt in the store. I had to explain to her. I hope you’re reading this and you really change the way you treat people when they come into that store because it’s not fair for 13 year old black girl to not have the same experience as everyone else its not fair! There’s more I would like to say but I will leave it alone but I’ll be damned if I go back...
Read moreI came here a couple weeks ago on a Thursday to find a foundation to wear for my wedding. I brought my maid of honor and bridesmaid with me (we were all wearing masks) to get their opinions, and because I'm not the most makeup-literate. My wedding was only 2 days away, so I needed to find something quickly.
We were trying to select a shade of the Benefit foundation, and due to COVID there were understandably no testers to try. We were stuck between two different shades so we decided to ask a nearby sales associate. Instead of taking one minutes to help us, she told us to download the Ulta app and use the GLAMlab program to choose products. Then she said "If you need help beyond that, I'm happy to assist you with shade matching!" and she spun around and walked off before we could say anything. We were confused because we just wanted her professional opinion between two shades of the same product. The store was almost empty and she wasn't helping anyone else.
So I downloaded the app and took a photo of myself for GLAMlab, and all the suggestions the program made for me were hideous. I couldn't find the Benefit products on the program to compare on my photo either. We looked around to ask for help and there were no sales associates to be found except for the one at the register. After several minutes of frustration fussing with a slow, glitchy app and then being ignored, I just chose a shade and checked out. Luckily the shade I chose ended up being perfect, but that was no thanks to the sales associate or the Ulta app.
I'm still giving 2 stars because I do love shopping at Ulta, but this location leaves much to be desired with their customer service. What's the point of having sales associates on the floor if they're just going to tell you to download an app instead of helping you? It's not like I asked her to show me every single brand of foundation in my shade, it would have taken her one minute to look at the products I was holding and tell me which shade was better for my skin tone. Why couldn't she just help me? I'm hesitant to shop at this location again, the staff needs better customer service training and shouldn't be telling customers to download an app to fend...
Read moreGoing with two stars. Obviously I'm a dude so I went with my wife and her friend. My wife returned a pallet or something that broke up in the mail. We wandered around the store and looked around (as women like to do) and when it came time to the time to leave and her friend got what she wanted; My wife and I left the store behind another couple who had a bag. As we walked out the alarm went off and as a precaution I stepped back in and pointed at the other couple. When we finally left the store a worker (a blondie who claimed to be "military" presumably a dependa or weekend warrior; but what's the difference right?) Asked her coworkers if they were going to search our bags and claimed we stole. Well her friend who was buying something pointed out that it was the couple infront of us because why would we steal walk back in and leave. The accuser told her that we did so she did not complete her purchase and left. She came outside and told me as I was putting my child in the car so I went back inside to clear things up and stated I didnt mind waiting for them to check cameras.(holding back my inner conservativeness to not go off on her for saying they could legally check my wifes purse) the woman would not stop defending herself and was very rude when I stated very clearly to her and her coworkers that I would not steal and would be glad to wait for camera footage. She kept blaming her customers for her rudeness even though I told her I understood her stories policies. When leaving she followed me to my car and infront of my family and WIFES friend to defend herself and argue with my wifes friend. The only reason it didnt get one star is because the rest of the employees didnt argue they told me their side and I said mine and we all understood but that one dependa or nasty girl just had to keep going. So thanks to the good employees at this...
