Last weekend my husband and I decided to finally go out for a date night out just him and I. My husband is stationed at Fort Campbell so it is difficult for us to have time alone due to the fact we live so far from family. My husband had arranged for someone to watch our children so that we may go to this Indian resturant off Wilma Rudolph rd., right next to Lane Bryant. We arrived at 7:40 that evening. We we're seated in a cool traditional style seating. We we're greeted by a nice waitress who had taken our order promptly. 7 to 10 minutes later we had recieved our appetizers and our entrée orders we're placed. This is where things went wrong about 35 to 45 minutes after we placed our orders the waitress cames by to apologize but our orders we're place a little late and they should be coming up shortly. Mind you when we had arrived there were're plenty of staff working I seen at least 3 waitress serving about 7 tables. People who had arrived had come at least 15 to 20 minutes after us had eaten and left. So now im dissatisfied. I believe our order was never placed until she came to the table, because we didnt receive the order until about 25 more minutes after stopping at our table. I couldnt believe it and when I finally did receive my order I didn't even get everything I asked for. At this point I ask to speak with management. I informed him of everything that had transpired, and the he offered that I not tip the waitress; (that already only makes 3.00 per hour) not even so much as an apology from this man. He didnt even ask me what I was missing from my order and offer to make it. However he did go on to tell me Morgan Freeman had been there 3 nights ago which im not sure whatever on God's green earth that had to do with my situation. I'm sure because it was now 9:05 and they close at 9:00 they were trying to get us out of there but again not our fault we had to wait well over an hour to wait for our food. I couldn't believe this place had ruined me and my husbands date night like this. For that reason I will never eat there again I will never reccomend that place but I will inform indviduals of our awful service and the poor management at this...

What I did not do, is read any reviews prior to going. So as not to have any bias. What I did do, was eat Indian food from a place in Nashville the day before.

Flavors of both places were definitely different. The dishes and curries were all different. Both places were tasty in their own ways. I can not say if the food was or was not Authentic. What I do know is, what I had was delicious and satisfying. From both places.

Reality Check

Would I say this is the "best" Indian food? Likely not. It is often near impossible to get some of the needed or quality items for authentic flavors of Indian cuisine in the United States. So that is an unfair expectation to have or even place onto a place. We're in Clarksville, Tn after all. Does unauthentic flavors equal terrible in my book? Absolutely not. Just a different taste.

If you're an avid foodie who enjoys all kinds of food, and want something out of the american norm. If you're someone looking for that spciy Indian kick. Perhaps, maybe you just want the atmosphere and smells. You will most likely enjoy this place, as a local option. I actually wish I would have gone sooner.

I will definitely be going back because the food I had, was well made and prepared. It was delicious, flavorful, and satisfying to me.

The one huge bad. Rip 1 Star ⭐

The place is understaffed. Bless that waiter tonight. Taking care of everyone on the floor, the door, and even cleaning and clearing tables.

I saw some unhappy people, and even people leave after waiting to long to be seated. Though, I say that is good a thing! At least then, the waiter would be able to catch up. Maybe. To allow her to provide her excellent service to everyone and keep all happy.

Nonetheless, she kept a positive attitude. Kudos to her. I hope they pay her well. Cause she is pulling far more weight than she should be. I can only imagine the number of restraunts that would appreciate having her on their team.

I also hope the owner does not read this and then blame the waitress. Perhaps provide a seat yourself sign when things get busy, or maybe you come up to the front.

Anyhow, definitely worth a visit to travel outside of the norm of...

I was visiting a friend in the area and we decided to come here for dinner on a Friday. We asked if we can sit down in the pillow seats. The server told us no and that I was reserved, although there was clearly an area available. We got seated at a table and waited what felt like too long to get served. I pointed to an eggplant curry dish on the menu and asked to have lamb added in. The plate arrived, but it was not what I ordered (had breaded eggplant in the curry). I asked the server about the dish and told her I am allergic to gluten and lactose. She blamed me for ordering the wrong dish. Apparently there are two eggplant curries on the menu? If that was the case the young lady SHOULD HAVE CLARIFIED. But instead she blamed me for it, although I pointed to the exact curry dish I was referring to. She takes it back. I ordered the correct dish and again asked to put lamb in it. Overall I waited about 30-40 minutes for my food because of the mix up. The dish arrives and NO lamb was added in (after I told her twice so another mistake wouldn’t be made). I was tired and hungry so I didn’t have the server take it back for the second time. When we were ready, we put our cards down. When she grabbed the cards I told her to not charge me for the lamb because there was no lamb in the curry. She said she wouldn’t forget. I get the bill (cards already scanned) and it was for $28... she CHARGED me for the lamb. I got up and went up to her regarding this issue. The young lady responds with “you had us waste the lamb, so the kitchen told me to charge you.” I was very upset. If there are any issues or if there are two dishes, then CLARIFY. I have a serious medical condition that prevents me from eating certain foods, and the server made me feel like it’s my fault. This place has horrible customer service. Food is ok. I’ve had better Indian food. Not to mention the food is OVERPRICED. Both of us will...

I have been craving Indian food for sometime now since Paradise closed, it brought me to Tandoor. Not to bore anyone with a long review, the food was above average but not worth what you are paying for. Now into the overall experience. My wife and I decided to do Take-Out since we didn't want to drag all the children in. We immediately reviewed the menu online and found our usual that we would order at Paradise. I like ordering through the phone instead of online and apps (I hate having accounts to anything and everything) so, I decided to call and place my order, I was immediately told that they do not do orders over the phone and that the only way to place a Take-Out order was online or through their app. So, I go back online to place my order and create an account for potential a onetime use. The order totaled $40.52 and had to be paid in cash in accordance with the online instructions. Upon arriving and paying they added an additional $1.11 for a To Go fee, absolutely ridiculous and made me really think about backing out of this order for a hidden fee. The food: we started consuming the Naan on the way home since we couldn't wait. The Butter Naan tasted and felt like a bland pancake, I would not order it again. The Aloo Mutter Paneer was just good and lacked a little more indian flavor. The Lamb Saag, Indian Hot was good and definitely had the heat behind it but it seemed more tomatoe based than spinach (see photos below). Both dishes did not come with enough rice so I would recommend asking for extra but I am sure that would cost you another $5. Overall, I would probably not come back. Just didn't like the ordering, hidden charge, food portion (rice), and quality of food for the price.

I came for the buffet again. I like the buffet because of the variety and quality of the food presented. Other places serving the genre of food have come and gone in this city and Tandoor is still here. That tells you a bit about what you can expect. I love the fact that on the buffet the selections may not be the same day to day and that makes you want to come back and try another dish. I have not had anything that was not authentic and delicious from the buffet or the menu in the many years I have been coming here. The lamb balls were seasoned perfectly with an addicting flavor. The rice was also cooked perfectly and tasty with the fresh veggies in it. The 2 types of Naan was delicious and a nice touch for variety. One of my favorites was the fried spinach. The fried spinach was so very tasty. The eggplant was cooked perfectly with a nice not too firm outside and a not too mushy middle. Very good. I have eaten Indian food all over the country and Tandoor ranks in my top 5. The dining area is well decorated, clean, and has a casual relaxed feeling along with the music. I do however wish the Naan bread on the buffet was not cut into pieces but rather served whole to provide a fresher taste. I would also like to see mango juice served with the buffet as most places do. I am still not disappointed with the taste and quality of food here and will continue to frequently visit.

I was a little hesitant to go because there were a mix of reviews but it was the only place in town so we tried it. When we first walked in, the entryway was a little crowded between people picking up orders and waiting to be seated. We were not acknowledged for at least 7-10 minutes even after all the to go's and others had been seated. This was the only negative thing about my experience. The food was delicious and the portions were adequate. I do think it was a little higher priced than the usual Indian restaurants I regularly visit. There are tables, booths, and then there are sitting areas where the tables are low and you sit on pillows instead of chairs and have a beaded "doorway". I had Madras and my daughter had Pasandra. We both enjoyed our dishes. Oh! And the cheese stuffed naan...you need to try this! I tried the mint Lassi for the first time and was not very excited by it. It was definitely not sweet like a mango Lassi but it was tolerable. Overall I think this is a nice place to eat and I would visit again.
