My family and have gone to this pharmacy since I was a teen and we never had issues until around 2020. My mom and I have both have received the WRONG medications while filling our prescriptions at this location at 2 different times. Due to us having common first and last names we haven been given the wrong medications. A year or so ago my mom sadly did not check the label on her medication before taking it (although, she has been filling the same medication with the same pharmacy for almost a decade so did not find the need to check the medication after building that routine). He medication also had her name listed but just had a different middle inital and address. So after awhile my mother became pretty ill and we did not understand why until we found out a week or two later that she was given someone else's medication! She thought she was taking an antidepressant, it was actually a thyroid medication. Fast forward to about a month ago. I was prescribed a antibiotic for a UTI. When I went to take the med I checked to see what the name of the antibiotic was because I was curious and the urgent care doctor did not mention it to me. I noticed it was not a name I was familiar with (btw let's just say this is not my first rodeo with a UTI) and I was I interested to find out what it was so I looked it up on Google. Guess what? It was a blood pressure pill not at all an antibiotic. Then I looked more and it was under a 'Megan Jones' instead of 'Morgan Jones' then I noticed the different address. It's just interesting how this has happened twice to our family and no one ever noticed for about a week or two that someone was given the wrong meds when my mom got sick? Hmmm. Either way if you go through them please be careful and check...
Read moreBesides long waits I never thought a pharmacy could actually be as terrible as this place. My wife is on thyroid medication which she has to take the brand name synthroid she cannot take the generic because she is highly allergic to it and last time she took it she ended up in the hospital. She recently underwent brain surgery that has left her disabled hopefully only in the short term anyways we have consistently fought with the pharmacy about filling the medication correctly because they always try to give us generic even though the doctor writes on the prescription that they're only to dispense brand name synthroid only due to her being highly allergic. Regardless my wife has a lot of family in town at the moment to help because I have been out of town for work. So her sister took her to the doctor which refilled the medications and if I wouldn't have come home from my business trip early and stop to pick up her script my wife would either have been in the hospital or worse because these pharmacists over here refuse to read doctor's notes or their own system notes. I will be reporting them to DOPL on Monday when they open and hopefully that will finally get something done because they could care less. They are too busy playing around back there to actually take the time and read their own notes or the doctor's notes which if it hasn't already could lead to something very bad. They would have better luck firing all their employees walking next door to McDonald's then to continue on with what they have. It's absolutely pathetic that in 2023 service like this is...
Read moreToday I talked to the Walgreen's pharmacist on the phone about refilling a prescription that supposedly had 3 more refills according to the bottle I have. He told me my doctor had cancelled the prescription. I have never heard of that happening. After getting off the phone, I then wondered if he had not seen that I've had problems ordering the brand name vs. generic and called back to find out if this was the case; had the doctor cancelled the wrong prescription? I called back and waited 15 minutes before a Pharmacy Tech answered. I told her what I was wondering and she asked who I had talked to in my previous call -the pharmacist. I then assumed she asked him about me, and then heard, "Just put her on hold?" I was left on hold for another 10 minutes and then the phone hung up. I get that there are people out there that use the system. With 2 diabetics, I assure you this is not the case in our family. My own son is in our local Pharm Tech program and I hope this isn't normal behavior out there in pharmacies. I am one who is weary of taking any meds other than Tylenol if possible- had a hysterectomy in February and didn't use the pain meds given me. I am a good, God-fearing person. Where is the trust that is by Walgreen's name? Don't do this to hard-working people. Goodness. We are at your mercy. Do you want our...
