Overall I prefer to go to this place over, Riverdale because of the optimism portrayed by many of the staff. However today when I went in and was about to buy my PSVita because I had read and watched people talk about how nice it is to remote away from home and play their PS4. I was discouraged by one of the employees to buy one because he told me that's what he thought it did when he bought one and found out that it only works when he is at home, which in turn left me wondering and I bought other things instead. Now having scoured the forums from Sony, and many other places, it seems that it was a problem in the beginning with a lot of people because they don't know much about NAT blocking from their router's hardware/software that wasn't allowing this function to work. So now, I've gotta take back some of the stuff I bought in it's place and buy what I intended to do in the 1st place which is wasting my time and gas. Unfortunately this could've been resolved simply by knowing the product backwards and forwards as to common issues and problems/fixes, which is obviously my fault, however I don't appreciate someone telling me something because they personally own the system and have a grudge against it, or just not knowing that this issue has been dealt with. I give this place 4 stars because of the average and overall quality of staff, the organization and the friendly atmosphere. Yes i'm frustrated now about feeling prodded in a different direction but in the next couple of weeks, I can let it go because, it's mostly my fault for not knowing the product and thinking I'll just test it and bring it back if I'm...
Read moreI had an horrible experience at the Clinton GameStop during the recent Prismatic Evolutions ETB release. I arrived at 5 AM and waited in line with around 15 others, including an 11-year-old boy who was incredibly excited to finally get a box. The store had a sign posted stating the number of ETBs available, but when the manager arrived at 7 AM, she claimed there were suddenly 10 fewer than advertised. The whole experience got worse Instead of honoring the line of people who had been waiting for hours, the manager handed out tickets to people at the back of the line many of whom had just arrived and appeared to be her friends. These individuals were allowed to skip everyone and go straight to checkout. The manager claimed she was trying to âfight scalpers,â but every ticket went to an adult not the kids or loyal fans who had waited patiently all morning. To top it off, when the mother of the 11-year-old tried to advocate for her child, the manager yelled at her and told her to âshut her mouth.â This level of disrespect is completely unacceptable, especially toward a customer simply trying to understand why her child was being skipped over. This felt like blatant favoritism and a misuse of authority. It was incredibly disappointing and damaging to the PokĂ©mon community. I will never return to this store and will be encouraging others to avoid the Clinton...
Read moreI gotta say this prismatic etb rerelease was an absolute joke. Communication on the method they were going to use was poor at best.
They decided to do tickets and just a random amount of etbs to the fcfs, but didn't accurately state that. They gave tickets to some people in front and some in back making it seem like they were gonna screw over everyone in the middle who lined up based on the information of available stock. I don't know if the people in the middle ended up getting anything as I had already left.
We witnessed the manager (I assume) extorting a woman in line because she had previously called out some of this shady behavior through a review. The manager would not sell to her unless she removed her review (the review in question was not unreasonable or in violation of review guidelines for Google). The manager also became combative to a different woman in line in front of children and swearing in front of no less than 3 children.
I get the goal is to combat scalping and I'm not against that, but this one-person crusade this manager went on went beyond reason and GameStops corporate policy.
This review will likely lead me to not being welcome in that location anymore.. and I am 100% okay with that.
This complaint is also being forwarded to their corporate offices. I hope all others who witnessed this...
