If there is an issue with your hair, be prepared for the staff to blame you, be argumentative/defensive it & to not take accountability. It seems that they are concerned with money & not much else.
Be prepared for the price to change at the salon, even if you’ve confirmed a different price via text. I was told $200, only to be told $250 at the shop & that she usually charged $280. I settled for $240.
My stylist eventually admitted that she did not do medium spring twists as I requested because she made an assumption about what was best for my hair texture. This was only after I came back about a week later for the front to be fixed because multiple twists fell out & were loose, then two weeks later because more fell out. After going to the shop in person a second time after more twists fell out, she called me asking if I “came to the shop complaining.”
Rather than being accountable, she blamed my hair for being “soft,” said who was she as a stylist to recommend another style & asked me if I’d gone swimming. The owner also said that spring twist hair is not supposed to get wet at all—which is not true.
The “best” the owner was willing to do was offer was a touch-up—not a complete re-do or refund of any amount, which I think would’ve been fair given the style was done poorly with no parts, only haphazard sections. I trusted the stylist to do box parts because everyone else in the shop was parting that way.
The owner claimed a refund or complete re-do wasn’t possible because it was 19 days later, that I should’ve called when I was out of town for work to inform them that the style was coming loose. Mind you—I was out of town for work for 11 of those 19 days & still managed to come back for her to fix it after barely a week.
The stylist got an attitude when I asked about a center part towards the end. It’s been my typical experiences with braiders to ask at the end. I was told I should’ve said something & then she proceeded to talk about me in French, which I understand. I spoke with her about this & she did apologize. When I notified her via text about a week later about the hair coming loose, she said that was “surprising” & asked that I send a picture. I have no reason to lie or exaggerate.
It’s been incredibly frustrating, embarrassing & upsetting having my hair look a mess while traveling for work after having sat from 8:30am-2:30pm (6 hours) in hopes that I wouldn’t have to worry about my hair for at least a month.
It’s really unfortunate because I went to the same stylist in for cornrows in May & she did an amazing job. I’ve been coming here since the 2000’s & won’t be...
Read moreWould give zero stars if i could and would warn anyone who values customer service and principles not to get their nails done at this Nail salon connected to Super Hair Braiding Behind JC Penny's... (FYI its the same company Super Nails and Braiding) I came in the salon today as a walk in and was the only customer in the salon. There was 2 employees there and an older lady name Kim started to do my nails. I only needed a simple manicure because I had an old gel polish that had basically grown out to midpoint of my nails. I wanted to give my nails a break from another gel polish so I just requested a simple manicure. Anyway, all was well until about 10 minutes later two women came in and guessing from Kim's reaction/ greeting they were frequent customers. The other employee sets up the spa so the women can get their pedicures and at this point Kim stops doing my nails and tells me she is going to do one of the lady's pedicure because my nails still needs to soak to fully remove gel polish.. Cool no worries, i wasn't in a rush and i get it... pedicure = more money than basic manicure with regular polish. No attitude from me, nothing. I sat there for about 30 minutes watching news on the tv while Kim did the lady's pedicure. When she was the done with her pedicure I saw her guide the lady to another station and then she sat down and started to prep to do her nails. This is when i was like Really??? So I removed my now ghost white hands from the bowl of nail polish remover and kindly told Kim that I was leaving. She was like oh you leaving? And i said "yes, because I was here before those ladies walked in here and you stop doing my nails to do her pedicure and now you're doing her nails too? That's not fair". Kim was like oh Okay- No apology or explanation... she didn't even give a damn. So if you want to be bumped over another client they think they can make more money off of... then come here. If you're like me and believes all customers should be treated fairly then go...
Read moreI generally like this shop and the braiders, but when I addressed my issue privately with the braider she blatantly said do whatever you want , so at her request this is my poor review of her poor behavior: I asked this stylist if she could make the cornrows the same size as the photo. She said yes, she then tells me I need single braids at my nape instead. I thought that was odd so I said ill do 6 large corn rows instead of 10, so she wouldnt need to do 3 random single braids under my cornrows. She does one and its average size, and proceeds to ask if it's fine, I took out the picture and showed her again to compare the large braids I requested to the braids she did. Major difference, but I say its okay and she can continue. This woman gets upset takes out the braid and walks away while talking about me. I asked her 3 time to pls come back that I dont mind. Other stylists even intervened but she had the worst attitude. It was embarrassing and in front of other customers. Even the main stylist who is the sweetest person Asked her to calm down but she was having a fit. The manager and other stylist asked me to stay but She had been too rude at that point. They have great braiders here but this one, who is obviously new doesnt know a thing about customer service or how to respect others. If a customer asks for a style they should be given said style not forced to deal with what a braider wants. And she could have politely declined. I’ve never had bad things to say about this shop, I go frequently but this lady was too rude and disrespectful. What really shocked me was when i explained to the manager how rude the braider was she brushed it off and just wanted to find another braider. I guess they dont need to retain customers because business is...
