My dad took me up here to play pickleball. It was not a good experience. Dad is a beginner (like whiffs 60% of the balls beginner), I am not. We went to the beginner open play Wednesday 2pm-3pm. That wasn't too bad actually. Whoever the blonde lady that works there is, she was very welcoming and seemed to try to make sure things were flowing well and people were happy. She played a game with us after a lady complained that I hit the ball too hard. I am a female for context. I can understand this perspective on that being it was a beginner open play and I thought the blonde lady handled things well by just deciding to be the one to play with us. After 3pm, it was just flat out open play (any level), and the blonde worker lady left. The front desk told me that this was when their better players would show up. My dad (the beginner) was not playing and it was just me putting my paddle in on the rack. There were two Asian guys who were very good who would flat out play with anyone. Some of the other clientele would refuse to play with you even when your paddle was next up on the rack. They were stacking paddles in groups behind (which could be ok given everyone gets to play) but they were literally just leaving me without a game when my turn was up on the rack (2 groups of 4 behind me- at least 8 people behind me in line). Open play is open play, and I wasn't about to let these people run me out and get skipped, so I would say "Ok fine. I'll just stand here and wait on the court until someone finally comes to play with me." Then I'd wait around on the court until the Asian guys would finally get done with their game and come and play with me. A few people played in here and there but I had to stand there and wait and hold the court up to get someone to play THREE TIMES while I was there. The third time they tried to tell me I had to leave the court if I didn't have anyone to play with me. I know open play rules, that is a lie, and I stood my ground until I got a game as I was the next paddle up on the rack. I'm confused if they thought I was too good to play with them or too bad. I don't know what the big deal was. I think it was just that they wanted to play with people they already knew, but that's not how open plays are supposed to work, and you're not supposed to leave people who are next in line on the rack out. I didn't see any pros here this day, and I don't think I was a lower level than the majority of the people who were there. I don't know what the deal was but it was a ridiculous experience. The culture is bad here. It wasn't an enjoyable open play and I ended up just leaving mad at the poor sportsmanship/etiquette there. From 3-5pm I never saw or met the "court leader" at all though the front desk said a guy named Tim was back there. They came and looked for him themselves and found he was not in there. I don't know who or where this mystery man was, but this open play was a mess. I meant to look at some of the other amenities of the gym while I was there, but I was too annoyed with the pickleball that I forgot to look at the other stuff. I would recommend going to the YMCA in Bedford for pickleball instead. I've had better...
Read moreI have been a member of Lifetime Fitness since 2010. I was an employee of Lifetime Fitness for 2 1/2 years as well. And stayed a member for the remainder of the past couple years. I pay for three people each month which comes out to be $350. I asked to cancel my membership due to the mask enforcement on the floor (I cannot breathe while working out and wearing a mask). And it is against the law and the Constitution to force someone to wear a mask. When asking to cancel my account, I was told by a manager that I was not required to wear a mask while working out but if I was within 6 feet of someone in the common area it was suggested to. SUGGESSTED, not enforced. A week in at the Lifetime Fitness Colleyville location, I was approached by one of their towel employees and was yelled at multiple times for not being considerate. Then I was followed and harassed throughout the building by the same employee. I also then was followed by one of the managers telling me I needed to wear a mask even though no one was around. He continued to harass both myself and my boyfriend through the following weeks for this very issue. Following this, one day I went in and One of their employees body checked me and my boyfriend. Followed my boyfriend into the men’s bathroom and started a fight which led to the cancellation of our membership. Upon canceling our membership out of shock and bewilderment from the harassment of Lifetime Fitness’s employee, the managers of the branch hid in their offices and would not speak to me about the situation that occurred. I’ve never been so disgusted with a gym and their customer service in my life. Sad, because I have been a member of the Lifetime Fitness in Colleyville for a very long time and I am sad I have to leave due to this poor hospitality and customer service. You could say it was bullying on the management and employee side as well. Seeing that most every person in the gym was not wearing a mask while working out or wearing a mask while in the common areas, however their membership was not canceled. And they were not harassed by the employees or the management. Looks to me like it was selection by the management employees on which people they wanted to pick on. Along with this, I ask that my sisters account not be canceled and be kept open because she did not want to quit. They moved forward with canceling her account since she is my sister. They then would not refund her tennis lessons she had just paid for and told her she can find a instructor elsewhere. Again I am very sad with the poor hospitality and customer service...
Read moreBe aware Lifetime Gym has very poor business practices and horrible management. And they steal, lie, over charge and you think you canceled your membership, but think again. I had a special 3 month membership for my daughter. After 3 months I canceled the membership. Low and behold they were still charging her account. I had to go 3 to 4 times to cancel it and it still wasn’t done. I threw the biggest hissy fit and they gave my money back for 4 months. But low and behold they started charging her back again for the whole year. I went to the gym and spoke to the manager named Albert! He was nice and said he will take care of it. I trusted that he would. He never called me back. Left multiple messages for him. I went back to see him and he was out of town. I met with the assistant manager, and she made some notes on the account. She told me he would get back with me. I left multiple messages for him again. He never called me back. So I called corporate and I dealt with the worse human being ever. I had to hang up because she was so unprofessional and rude. She thought she was dealing with a stupid person. Nope, I’m a well educated person and have been a member before else where. She went round and round. Never offered to even to take 24 hours to review my account. She flat told me that she will not give my money back. She forced me to write this review. My only choice is to report them to better business bureau! How could you ever charge someone who is a minor and doesn’t even drive and have not used the gym for a year. Bad management and do not believe them if they say they will "call you back". The staff there are worthless. Huge turn over with the employees. I will not recommend this club to anyone. Trust me they stole from the wrong person. If I could I would give them a 0 star. I don’t usually write reviews because I don’t have time, but this is to let people know how unprofessional they are. New manager, I thought would be good but nope, poor management skills. All the good trainers left, because management is horrible. I had a trainer there and spent a little of money, and now you want to steal from me? I was a great customer. I’m happy at a smaller gym. I know for sure they will not steal from me. People, read all the reviews. # 1 complaint is that they steal, lie and overcharge your account. I have to say this, it was the worst experience I’ve had. I am a very nice, honest and educated women. I hated that I received such poor service. Thank you for...
