Yesterday was my first time visiting this particular Dillard's location. I went with the intention of purchasing a graduation gift for my brother. My boyfriend and I entered the store at around 730pm; there weren't many other customers coming into or out of the store. As soon as we entered, the men's shoe department was to our right. We were greeted physically (not verbally) by a salesman (white man early-mid 50s) sitting at the first display. No "hello, welcome in, can I help you find anything". My boyfriend spoke and he replied dryly . After locating a display for the designer I intended to buy, I hear the salesman yell from across the shoe department "hey we have some more of that designer over there". I was thinking. "Why are you shouting to me from across the store, it is ok to approach." At that point we were the only people in the men's shoe department. A few moments later a man with the same descriptors as the salesman walked in. He is immediately engaged by the salesman with a "Hello, looking for anything in particular today?...Let me know if I can help you." Where was this enthusiasm when we entered. At no point in time as we shopped did he come over to ask if we needed assistance. I actually had to bring the shoe that I wanted to purchase over to him to ask for the size I needed. I can only assume that he profiled us as young black kids undeserving of his time and...
Read moreToday is 12/27/24 and I went to make a return to the women’s dresses area. There were several problems from the start. We waited a long time for anyone to come to the registers. When the lady finally came over she expressed that she was the only person ringing up customers. I had my receipt and the dress had tags and was never worn. She said she needed to speak to a manager because there should be a red tag not the yellow tag. Upon returning she said the Vince Camuto brand didn’t have the red tags. She then said your refund is going on a gift card. I said I’d like it returned to the card used for purchase. I asked to speak to the MOD. She came about and said the holiday return policy did not allow her to put the funds back on the card used. I asked for her manager and she said she couldn’t call her to come and I had to walk to customer service because that’s the only register that could perform the return!? In customer service I spoke to C. Dockery and she was not helpful. She continued to uphold the wrong . Her suggestion was to take this store card or go to the Dillard’s of purchase( Nashville) and see what they will do for you. Dillards had a reputation of being service and customer oriented . That’s was not displayed here. I am hoping someone will reach out to me and make this right. Until then I’m telling all and not recommending we spend our...
Read moreI went to this store today with my teenager son and my daughter. I had bought his first communion dress here before and loved the customer service we received in that occasion. Today I was looking for a black tie for my son and wanted to check for a nice dress for his graduation to. I asked the gentleman in the customer service counter where the ties are as I couldn't find them. He point out where they are and shout out loud 3 times to the other two male employees working in that area that I needed help to find a tie. Mind you these two employees are just sitting talking to each other. They did not even acknowledge our presence or tried to help us at all. Then another customer walks in the area and they got up and went to help her without hesitation. I guess they just decide base on appearances who deserve their service. I used this opportunity to teach my kids a valuable lesson for sure on how not to treat people regardless they appearance. Needless to said I decided to took my business somewhere else, where being Hispanic is not seen as a problem to the people who actually want to sell their merchandise. Customer service should be a priority regardless of who walks...
