TL;DR: GH makes you feel like a person. Award-winning customer service, excellent selection to browse, and incredibly talented staff to answer any question one might have.
After finally visiting all the stores in the Springs, I can write this review with confidence. Gamer's Haven is your go-to store for anything. Gamer's Haven is what all stores should strive to be (let them try). As a newer customer or at the minimum, a less visible one, all the stores (except Gamer's Haven) lack in customer service. They make it feel like you have to be part of a special membership program just to be welcomed. They don't even try. Most will just shush you away with a cold shoulder or not even want to talk, hoping you buy something and leave quickly. This is not the case at Gamer's Haven. I've always been a nerd but I am new to painting and Warhammer 40k is my new niche. The staff there (all of them) welcomes anyone with a question or even just a chat. I always come with questions regarding painting and they are more than eager to stop what they are doing to answer them. The staff there creates such a warming and welcoming energy that you can feel throughout the store the instance you enter. It even carries with you as you leave. One store I asked if they had any paint suggestions for a brown leather and they just shrugged and pointed to the paint rack. At Gamer's Haven, I was shown all the options and even how to apply them to get the effects I was looking for. Wow. Gamers Haven should be your place to go, place to check out if you haven't been, or if you avoid it (I'm sorry for you), maybe give it another try. They have an amazing selection of all the stuff that make us feel joy but the welcoming human interactions and advice they give: priceless. I only wish I could give this review more stars. Gamer's Haven, you have a customer for...
Read moreIf i could give zero stars for the disrespectful, rude and pompus attitude portrayed by the manager Edward everytime he is working there, I would. My family AND friends will not be shopping or playing here anymore. It is extremely sad to see someone who is supposed to be the face of a company or brand tell someone they are unwelcome based on personal preference. He is literally the ONLY employee that ever has a problem, threw my husbands business cards in the trash (husband is a comission painter) after being told that we could leave them there to advertise. Told him to roll up his banner while trying to get photos of his painted armies and teaching a friend how to play, because its competition for the store. This was a lie because comission painting is not in competion with selling figures especially when we get supplies from their store and advertise for their store. Also, saying that our son, who is nearly 5 and always has his tablet while there, cannot have his tablet there suddenly. This is supposed to be a family establishment, Edward does not show this quality at all, nor at any point has he ever show this. I am unsure what his gripe is, and at this point I don't care. This is NOT how you treat people who are patrons of your store and community. Disrespectful, rude and unwelcoming are not qualities of good customer service in anyway...
Read moreA great game store which truly a haven. My wife and I came here to just look around. We were instantly greeted by a woman behind the counter who was friendly and talkative. They have a great selection of products. From major selling table top war gaming fantasy games to odd and indie systems. I saw the usual popular games like Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder but I also saw newer indie titles and lesser know titles like Blades in the Dark, Burning Wheel, Feng Shui 2, Blue Rose, and several other core rules books and supplements. It was awesome to see all if that on shelves waiting for a good home! They also had a great selection of minatures games like Warhammer 40k, Blood Bowl, and Flames of War. They also had, once again, other titles like Blood and Plunder! Board game selection was also a healthy size! The environment was nice. The gaming tables are tucked in the back separated from the store front. Conversations of the players could barely be hard from the front of the store. The prices range from average to on the higher side. Some board games and books were on par with general while other things like dice were a bit higher than expected. Overall, it was a lovely experience. I would come back to this shop if I were...
