Incredible, I call multiple times at 10:30 am no answer so I call another GameStop in Columbia and ask if I can still preorder and they said yes you can pay 5 dollars and pay the the rest later at midnight when you pick up. So cool I drive to my local GameStop to see an empty store and the only guy working smoking outside which explains why he never answers the phone. I go in to be told sorry man the preorder window is closed. I said I just called the other location and they said it’s still open. He tells me to come back at midnight and that they will have copies available 100%. No problem said thank you and came back at 11:30 stood in line only to see only six people came between then and opening. So just the seven of us there and they open the doors to then tell me sorry we are only doing order pick up right now. I said ok the guy told me to come back at midnight. No wonder this place is going to go under and 20 year customer will never shop here again because you have the most ignorant people running this place. Read moreI've only recently developed an issue here. For one I do understand they are short staffed and that can't be helped understandable. However I find it odd that I have come into this store twice to browse, find a game on the shelf ho to buy and the first time guy said they didn't have it and must had been placed on shelf by accident. I'm thinking ok mistakes happen bummer buy no big deal. Came back the very next day different guy working say game on shelf again and then the game was in stock again. Thought that was odd but thought ok other guy just didn't see it. Fast forward come in again do same thing with different game same guy now says it not in stock. Guy quickly browses through drawers and says yeah no we don't have it. I explained my first experience with him then browsed a little better and said again he couldn't find it even tho he said in his system it read he had 2 in stock. Read moreMy husband placed a preorder back in June for a product that was only available via the website for preorder. He was told it would be released on 09/01. Turns out it was released 08/27.
Per Gamestop policy, he should have received a phone call regarding the availability of his preorder. He didn't. This isn't the first time no one at Gamestop has contacted him for his preorder pickup either. An employee has previously tried to STEAL a preorder - they know they only have 48 hour holds on preorders.
Fortunately, he received that preorder and the employee was let go.
This one however... the store is blaming their corporate office saying the order was never received. Customer service is blaming the store, saying they never placed the preorder. Well, where the hell did his money go? Where is his preorder? Why is this such a disorganized mess?
