Marshalls — Local services in Columbia

In the store @8pm Monday evening- attempted to try on a couple of shirts. Once in the fitting room (2 other customers went in just ahead of me), the attendant appeared at the fitting room entrance & loudly announced in a very patronizing tone: "ladies, the fitting room is closed ( a full hour before the store was to close), the lights are off (untrue) & it is unsafe for you to be in here". I gathered my things & exited. She was standing at the entrance with a look of disdain on her face, so I gave her the items I was interested in & proceeded to get a drink & check-out. There was no one in line, but apparently the conversation between the cashier & and off-duty employee took precedence over a customer. So, I waited.

The store itself was a complete disaster, with merchandise scattered everywhere.

I have never experienced the rudeness & lack of service at a Marshall's store before, & hope I don't again.

Marshall's missed out on some $$$ on this one & can assure you that I will never step foot in this...

This is my least favorite Marshall’s in the states that I’ve visited. The store lacks the choices that I’m used to. The staff are rude. I was harassed and followed around like a criminal on both visits I’ve tried to make there. Upon reflecting, I can’t think of any behavior that I showed that would warrant this. I’ve worked in management in retail, so I understand the tactics but they were way off base. The register staff lack basic customer service skills. My 6 year old has a better understanding of how to speak to people than their employees do. When I wanted to try things on I was badgered about my style and how the clothing items weren’t good for my shape. Im just short and skinny. I’m not sure why that excludes me from regular clothes like jeans and T-shirt’s or when dressing room staff suddenly became fashion experts... that should probably be addressed before something is said of that nature to the...

Not sure if I will return here. Normally I'll visit this location when I am in the area on a business trip. The last 2 times that I was here, there were 2 lady's (one each trip) who were rude. I dont remember the 1st lady's name but the 2nd one didnt have a name on her tag. It was blank. She had a short pixie like hair cut (dark brown hair). She held up the line for 17 minutes in order to find a price for a customer. She could have asked the customer to slide over while waiting for someone to locate the price but instead she waited. She was the only cashier and everyone in line was complaining. This was around 6:50-7:15 pm on...
