This is an extremely long post so here is the short version: I asked them to diagnose my expensive gaming computer and ended up having to buy a new one because a cable was plugged in wrong and the computer would not boot up. I found this out when building my new computer and asked for my diagnostic fee back because I found that simple problem after I was charged and they refused to give me my money back. They did not diagnose my PC properly and I ended up spending another $450 on a new computer because they didn't diagnose it properly.
If you take a look at the post below (screenshot attached in case they edit their post) you can see the only thing they have to say is that I "mucked up" my computer. I'm willing to admit that, yes, I did something wrong, but did they tell me what I did wrong when I brought it in? No. Did they explain "You plugged this into the wrong place, you fried it."? No. Did they return it to me plugged in CORRECTLY? No. The only thing they had to say was "We THINK it's motherboard, but we don't know how or why." I already had that assumption and told them. They just repeated those facts back to me for the diagnosis.
Again, the issue is that they didn't diagnose the issue properly, which is why I brought it there in the first place, not that I had to spend another $450.
So, I got a new computer case for my custom built gaming PC for Christmas. The computer worked beautifully in the old case and had 0 issues with it. When I started transferring everything over into the new case I started to have issues with it. After about three hours worth of troubleshooting as to why it wouldn't turn on I gave up and decided I would rather pay someone else to figure out the problem.
I heard great things about Mr. PC and I had even taken my laptop to them in the past to fix an overheating issue so I figured they would be the best person to take my gaming computer to to get fixed. I was completely wrong in this matter.
When I took it to them I explained everything I had done, pulled the RAM out, reinstalled the CPU, attempted to plug the old power switch from the old computer case to the new one to see if it was maybe the case. The only thing I DIDN'T do was check to see if the proper power cables were plugged into the proper motherboard sockets, I didn't do this because I didn't think to do this.
When I brought my computer to Mr. PC, I told them everything I had done and that I thought maybe the motherboard went bad for some reason, whether it was during the transfer something happened or maybe it was just old. They said they would go through a troubleshooting list and figure out what was wrong. However they didn't do any of that. I received the computer back, paid $50 for a "diagnosis" and went on my way and spent another $450 on all new computer components. While I was installing the new parts I noticed there was a PCI-E cable plugged into the CPU power socket and I instantly knew that was what was wrong with the computer, the CPU power cable should have been plugged into the CPU power socket, not a PCI-E cable.
The next day I calmly went into the store and explained what I had found and that I didn't feel like they had gone through all the troubleshooting processes when they had my computer. The man there then raised his voice at me, while I remained calm and said "What's another $50 if you just spent $450?!" I explained that I would not have had to spend $450 if they had actually done a proper diagnostic. He asked me "Are you a man? If you're a MAN you'd stop talking to me, get out, and wait for the manager to call." I asked him politely to stop yelling at me and he again, screamed at me and said "Is there anything else I can help you with?! If not then get out."
If you want extremely poor customer service do NOT go to Mr. PC for any of your problems. They will yell at you, they will not diagnose issues properly, and...
Read moreOn 09/19/16 i dropped off my iPad Pro to get my cracked screen replaced . I paid the full amount of $473.23 ,the individual who i spoke with guaranteed that my iPad would be as good as new with the new screen. I used my iPad on a daily basis with my business to take notes, place bids, work orders, over view blue prints, invoices, and keep track of my employees clock in/out .The screen on my iPad was cracked but yet it was still operable, i wasn't not able to fully use my Apple pen due to the cracks on the screen, which led me to get a screen replacement. I walked in the Mr PC Monday 09/26 to get advise on my laptop as well to check on the progress on my iPad pro. It turned out to be that they were not capable of replacing my screen on my iPad and was told that they would fully refund my payment, well they took apart my iPad completely destroyed the original screen when i pressed the power button the screen would light up with lines flickering on and off. At this point my iPad was completely useless. Now i can't even see my notes, drawings absolutely nothing. I could not believe that after they altered my device ,extensively damaged my device to the point it was no longer operable ,think that just by refunding my money was the best way to dishonor their commitment to repairing my iPad. I would have been fine with the refund and the return of my device in the conditions i bought it in, but this this was not the case they dissembled my iPad ,could not fix it slapped it back together ,left my iPad fully in inoperable conditions. I was shocked to see my iPad in the conditions they were handing it back to me. Therefore i didn't not accept the device back until i had a word with the owner of Mr PC. Hoping to come to arrangement to find a solution for my iPad so i could get it functional at least to the conditions i brought it in. The owner said "all we can do is refund your money ,thats how business works'', '' you should of spent a 150 more and sent it to apple'' , '' I'm not going to wast my time with you take your money and iPad back. I could not believe how ignorant he was in regard that my iPad was being returned to me with the screen completely inoperable and thinking that it was fine just by getting my my refund. Now i have a iPad that is taken apart with screen hanging off, and absolutely useless. if they knew they couldn't fix it , or had never fix one before, why would they commit to fixing it, take it apart just to experiment ,and give back to useless and not want to take responsibility for the damages they caused. I strongly suggest to take your devices else where, please do not make business with Mr PC they are irresponsible , not trustworthy or loyal. Please be aware, i would hate for someone to though this situation I'm going trough . PLEASE STAY AWAY...
Read moreI accidentally spilled water on my laptop, so brought in my computer to the Bull Street location and it was diagnosed with corrosion on my motherboard and also that i would need a keyboard replacement which would cost around 175 total. I had no problem with this at all, and the repair was completed with good results. They technically know what they are doing!
What I disliked, even hated, was the lack of professionalism. When my keyboard finally came in over two weeks after I dropped off my laptop and much later than I was initially told, it was late on a Friday afternoon and I was told they would probably not be able to get to it. I understood this dilemma, but what I had a huge problem with was the fact that I was not contacted before noon on Monday for pickup. I had to call in myself. I'm a college student and I am //heavily// dependent on my computer for both work and school. I work for a company that does custom equipment and we receive end of the week orders all the time but always place those at priority, especially when someone has been waiting. I can't imagine how long it takes to install a keyboard, but I'm sure it wouldn't take over four hours on a Monday. There was no apology just the explanation that they hadn't "gotten to it yet".
I chose the company because it was local! It boasted service that was quick. I was hoping for some level of personal care about my situation, but did not receive this. I may as well have gone to geek squad or best buy.
When I picked the laptop up I was scolded for "abusing it" and questioned about the tape on my screen and some minor bending to the back plating and told my laptop had "been through a lot" in a derogatory way. This has nothing to do with the repair being made except a slight amount of inconvenience when putting the keyboard on, but still TOTALLY unnecessary. Those comments had nothing to do with anything, and was frankly none of anyone's business and extremely disrespectful to me as it was said openly in front of other employees and potentially other customers. I was literally astounded at how rude it was. I have a feeling this is because I am a young woman since they did not treat the adult man who checked out before me in such a way but quietly gave him his phone with no comments and let him pay for his repairs.
I was embarrassed and upset to be treated like that and will NOT be taking my service...
