Gordon Food Service Store — Local services in Columbus

I shop here 5-6 days a week for my business. This location is always out of something that I need. They quit selling frozen pepper strips and sour kraut so I have to go to Minerva Park gfs because Grove City also doesn’t have the frozen peppers. Pitas and Texas toast are also an issue at this location. You would think whoever manages this stores supply list would see that the 6” pitas aren’t selling. So quit buying so many 6” pitas and buy more 7” pitas. There’s hoagie buns and other items that don’t ever sell out on the bread racks; yet you aren’t buying more Texas toast to replace with something that doesn’t actually ever sell. I remember there not even being any logs of bologna for a month. Same with the Dirusso’s Italian sausages. I depend on product from this store to make me money. When I don’t have product, I have to listen to my customers complain as I try to explain to them that the store I shop at has a hard time learning how to keep a grocery store stocked with groceries. Long story short, I have to go out of my way to other stores to waste more of my time all because my neighborhood GFS doesn’t know how to keep product in stock. I wish there was a better store to shop at. Maybe restaurant depot would be more successful. GFS I love your chopped lettuce. Either the 2lb or 5 lb bags- both stay fresh for about 6 days. Love the convenience and the fact it’s vacuum packed. This product brings me to your store about once a week. Good job with this. You beat out all the other stores for freshness. Your clerk Derrick is rude and off putting. I’ve encountered him 3 times now. So put out to do his job, terrible. Does not want to help finding product in the store. I realize I disturbed your stocking duties but your customers are the reason you have a job. Yesterday was the final straw for me. You were the cashier, you grumbled at me and I replied “ I’m doing fine. How about you?” Silly me- you quickly set me straight that you didn’t care how my day was going, you asked if I wanted a receipt! You are such a rude person. I didn’t have time to speak with your manager of I would have. You should only be allowed to work in the back stockroom. I’m sure GFS doesn’t want your terrible attitude to be a reflection on...

This GFS is a very clean store. If you are looking for bulk food or anything related to food, this is your treasure trove! Prices are fair and good value overall; some things are a bit higher, some of the sales are simply outstanding. The staff are very friendly and efficient. When I was leaving, I approached the hand sanitizer dispenser...You know how the sanitizer can congeal around the opening? This was no exception, and globs of sanitizer went everywhere, including the cashier. I laughed in spite of my embarrassment, and he did too!
