Training through pain makes me want to đŸ€ź Worse yet, is when athletes “think” they are suppose too! It’s somehow become cool to train through pain and injury. The bullshit motto “no pain no gain” and things like that certainly don’t help. Pain is a signal that you are out of alignment in your movement or in your training and needs to be address before it becomes a full fledge injury. It can be an opportunity to improve in the long, revealing a blind spot in movement and actually allowing for your training to become BETTER, but first you must STOP training through it, so you identify the issue + allow the pain to go away so you can actually make the adjustments. Slow down folks, there’s plenty of time. #weightlifting #olympicweightlifting #olympicweightlifter #snatch #cleanandjerk #projectlift #nopainnogain #pain #backpain #painfreetraining #trainpainfree

“I’m afraid to get hurt” “I’m afraid of heavy weights” “I feel fragile” If this what you are experiencing you not alone. #fear is common when we train. AND, remember: what you focus on, is what you create. When this comes up, we need to first acknowledge the fear that is present - not ignore it, not distract yourself from it, not push through it. Then, other things we can do to do support ourselves: journal exercises around the fear, supportive team and coach to help guide you through, specific movements to help support the body in ranges of motion needed for weightlifting (ie mobility, stability exercises, different volume, etc). Let training set you free. Let it be an expansive and barrier-breaking activity. Surrender the fear, for the freedom. #trainingforlife #mentaltraining #mindfulathlete #olympicweightlifting #weightlifting #olympicweightlifter #projectlift #snatch #cleanandjerk #mindset

If you’re on the fence about committing to a start up session with Project Lift, take my advice and don’t think, just do it. I’m someone who has considered themselves to be athletic their entire life. I’ve had trainers and coaches in the past and at this point in my life I feel like I’ve heard a lot of the same things from most of them. I was shown how much left there was that I didn’t know in just one session and it was done in a way that was tailored to me and my specific goals/shortcomings as an athlete. It was refreshing walking into this gym with a coach who is just as excited about your goals as you are.

If you are just interested in weightlifting as a hobby and think that you’ll never do it competitively, you will still benefit. They will show you how to move efficiently and most importantly safely. If you think you’re not at that level yet, do it! They will get you where you need/want to be. If you are recovering from a sports injury, the staff is also knowledgeable in recovery and future injury prevention techniques. I can personally attest to this as someone who came to Project Lift post ankle reconstruction surgery and they didn’t shy away from working with me to overcome those imbalances. Even if you’re a seasoned athlete you will benefit from this program and for all of the above, the community is strong. I can tell that everyone genuinely enjoys stepping into the gym ready to get the work in and your coach will be working harder than you are to ensure...

Stumbled upon this lifting gym from Drew's articles and videos on Wodnation and starting following their free program before taking the plunge with remote coaching. I've never looked back since. Drew, Chelsea and Tyler are the epitome of what coaching really is, which separates them from just ordinary trainers that you would often see in gyms these days. The fact that I can really connect with them on a personal level without actually having met them ever (but I really do hope to meet and train under them in person sometime soon) says a lot about their abilities (haha I really look forward to receiving emails from them!). They have been so patient and encouraging, despite my numerous questions, injuries and terrible lifting habits and always taking time to explain or clarify concepts. I think one thing that really stands out is the way they (esp Drew and Chelsea) care about their athletes, looking way beyond the numbers on the bar/chart to support them in their growth. I really can't thank them enough for being on this journey with me and look forward to continue growing with them and their community. Truly recommend this gym and coaching service to anyone who wants to fall in love with the whole art and craft...

After having not been active for almost 2 years, I wanted to start working out again. This gym came highly recommended, and seemed very knowledgeable. I was very concerned about getting injured, or having coaches that would try to push you past what was safe. And I'm very happy to say that would never happen at this gym.

The coaches are all very well trained and knowledgeable, the workouts are custom to your goals and needs. After working out with them for a few months I got the courage up to start running again, and they adjusted my plans to work with my running schedule. I still lift, but I do more mobility and support exercises as well now.

If I ever missed a week or two, I'd get a message from the coaches just checking in on me. Which I find really nice and supportive, it makes me think they want me to stay with it and use the gym.

Chelsea and Drew are amazing people and the people who train here are very friendly and welcoming. If olympic lifting is your goal then definitely come here, if you have other goals that can be supported by lifting then you will still be welcome here and find the coaching supportive of what you're...
