The only complaint I have about this gym is the manager that sits at the front desk, Philip. He sits at the Grandview and short north locations. As I was leaving the short north location, he was blocking the exit to the gym, and I waited for him and said excuse me multiple times and then after he moved over he opened the door and then said "after you". In which I quickly slipped out the door in a hurry and he yelled after me "is there a problem??" in a very derogatory way. I was very uncomfortable. After I told him no I was just trying to pass through, he kept trying to fight, repeating "what's the problem" in a very angry way. As a woman this made me feel really really uncomfortable and unsafe around this short tempered man. This was very unprofessional and should not be allowed. This man should not be allowed around customers with that...
Read moreThis is a pretty neat place though it is very obviously designed for advanced users. It has a plethora of workout machines, as well as dumbbells, TRX bands, and a pullup bar.
It also has stationary bikes, a rowing machine, and a lot of ellipticals and treadmills. I've never had any issue finding a free machine to work on, but they do only have one flat workout bench which can be a pain.
It also isn't terribly busy, even on the weekends, which is pretty great - although be prepared to workout next to a ton of super fit people (yikes, lol). It does not have lockers, instead it has open cubbies. The location, though, really can't be beat. If you're on a treadmill or elliptical your view is a garden, and its super close to me which...

There is ONE rowing machine (the chain looks discolored) and no stairmasters. I signed up as a member during a winter special where I didn’t pay a start up fee, though I’ve been charged an equipment maintenance fee ($21.50) which was confusing bc the gym membership is already over $50 to begin with (it comes out to $53.75 monthly, including tax). Having a downtown gym is convenient, though they could make better use of the space and actually keep up the equipment if we pay a...
