Sad that a restaurant with such good food has such a horrible and dangerous policy towards guests safety when it comes to Identity theft and keeping cards, keys, and IDs secured while the owner is coming back to retrieve them. Me and my Husband just called in an order for food from the Eagle in Columbus. My husband left his wallet where he paid for our food (which has his apartment keys attached to it). We called into the restaurant to see if my husband left his wallet there, after discovering he didn't have them when we got home (we live a couple miles away). The Individual who answered the phone said that the management put it at the host stand. Now we were thinking this meant it was secured at the host table area, or least was out of sight, or at very least had someone standing there. NO!!! I walked up and through the front window saw my husband’s wallet / keys sitting out in the open on the top of the host table with no host, manager, or employee watching it and with doordashing or delivery person standing around it. Anyone was free to steal my husband's wallet, his identity, or since his ID (our address) and keys were together they could have easily broken into our apartment endangering our very physical SAFETY or LIVES!!!!. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY ABSURD!!!. I have never heard of a restaurant with such unsafe and reckless disregard for their guests. The Thunder Dome Restaurant Group should be ashamed of this total lack of care taken by their management at the Eagle Columbus. I know that the wallet was easy to take because I didn't even open the front door all the way or step into the restaurant to grab the wallet. I took the wallet without a single person noticing, No “is that yours?” or an acknowledgement of any kind that the keys were even taken. I would be surprised if they even know I got them or if they even care....
Read moreA group of 3 of us went in on Saturday night and the hostess who sat us didn’t bother to tell the server she had sat him outside, so we waited 10 minutes for service. The food was amazing! It was chilly outside and the heaters weren’t on, so we asked if we could move out party inside and also add an additional 4 people to our group. The bartender was so nice about it and was happy to accommodate it. The manager stomped around and got rude with the bartender in front of us. We had to sit two at a table away from the bar and the rest at the end of the bar, no big deal. But the same manager came over to clean the table that had left next to where two of had to be seated. The manager pushed the partition on to us and when we held the wooden piece up to prevent any further hitting, the manager leaned her head over and blamed us. She never apologized for hitting anyone with it, then proceeded to move it further in to our table and walk away. NEVER have I ever had a manager act so rude and inconsiderate to a patron. Her attitude was so inappropriate and not something I would have expected, given that most of the staff was kind and accommodating. The second bartender behind the bar closed out my bill, to which I had only bought one beer, she placed several others on my bill and just ran my card without asking and then when I brought the issue up to her, she apologized but then thanked me for just paying it. I shouldn’t have had to pay for anything that wasn’t mine. When I addressed these issues with Kristen the other manager, all she did was apologize. No changes were made to my bill, nothing changed. Worst dining experience I’ve ever had. If you want to eat the food, I highly recommend getting it to go and not sitting at the restaurant itself. Terrible service...
Read moreThe Eagle in Columbus, Ohio is an absolute gem for anyone craving delicious comfort food with a Southern twist. From the moment you step inside, the rustic and cozy atmosphere creates a welcoming vibe. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Mainly for my first time.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at The Eagle is a true homage to Southern cuisine, and it does not disappoint. Their fried chicken is simply outstanding. Crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside, it's everything you could hope for in a fried chicken dish. The seasoning is on point, adding just the right amount of flavor without overwhelming the dish.
Not only is their fried chicken exceptional, but the side dishes are equally impressive. The shrimp and grits is a delightful combination of succulent shrimp and creamy, perfectly cooked grits. It's a flavor explosion that will leave you wanting more. The horseradish mash is a unique twist on traditional mashed potatoes, with a subtle kick of horseradish that adds depth to each bite. And let's not forget the garlic crumb mac and cheese. It's a heavenly blend of creamy macaroni and cheese topped with a crunchy garlic breadcrumb crust. Each side dish is a standout in its own right, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen.
The Eagle also offers a great selection of craft beers and cocktails to complement your meal. Whether you're a beer enthusiast or prefer a creatively mixed drink, you'll find something to satisfy your taste buds.
The only downside of The Eagle is that it can get quite busy, especially during peak hours. However, the food and service are well worth the wait. I highly recommend making a reservation ahead of time to...
