Went into the store around 7:15pm for a simple return, at the end of the day the return was processed appropriately by way of lululemon’s policy and etc. However, the employee who handled the return on the register was vile.
From the moment they approached the register, they ignored my friendly greeting, they stared down my girlfriend as she curiously browsed a rack or two, and had a facial expression that appeared half confused by our presence and half skeptical of our motives. Which was very obvious. I had a defect in my item, had already ordered a replacement online and simply wanted to return my item in a store to save the hassle of postage and the logistics of returning ONE BRAND NEW article of clothing. However, they questioned the origin and condition of the item despite the receipt I had in my possession and the confirmation on my phone. So what should have been a very straight forward, likely quick transaction, they only exchanged the item despite my request (within the allotted time frame given the return policy) and I left the store feeling judged, profiled and awkward. And for no good reason. Had the return gone differently, both of us more than likely would have left with new merchandise in addition to satisfaction. I have spent thousands of dollars at Lulu and they do their best to satisfy their customers, but this manager acted extremely distrustful, as if I were trying to get away with something. I had already bought the tights and was not truly looking for a refund or even different pants, I was simply asking an employee how to prevent getting oversized tights when 8 is my size in all other tights but this one I had bought, she offered to switch them out. I didn’t want the individual who purchased the gift for me to know that I was exchanging them because it was a kind gesture to get them for me in the first place. I was told I can’t do an even exchange without proof of purchase. Lululemon is still making and selling the shorts I wanted to exchange. They were not going to lose any money.
