Everything about my experience here was A1, from parking in front of the door to leaving a 1pm Brunch reservation happy and well feed at 6pm. Yes, you read that correctly! 😆

All foodies have that one foodie friend that makes life njoyable and easy. 🤗 The two of us ventured over to Testa Rossa and here's what happened...

If you're in the true foodie club, you know it's a must to sample multiple food and beverage menu items in order to fully appreciate a restaurants culinary flare.

So without further ado...

I must start with a major celebratory shout out for the staff! 🎉👏🏼 Giant Kudos to the hostess, Teya (our amazing server), Hunter (bartender extraordinare), Jatan (manager), and the wonderful food runners. Superb customer service, smiling faces, and kindness is what we were met with and it lasted the full 5 hours.

What We Ate:

Caprese Dip - roasted tomato, mozzarella, grilled cibatta, aged balsamic (Teya recommended, foodie approved 😋)

Polenta & Meatballs - beef & pork meatballs, marinara, whipped ricotta, mozzarella

Calimari Fritti - lemon aioli, pickled peppers, arugula

Mozzarella Sticks - hand breaded mozzarella, vodka sauce, calabrian hot honey

Tiramisu French Toast - espresso battered brioche, mascarpone mousse, marinated strawberries, cocoa powder

Smoked Salmon Flatbread - (which is not a flatbread as you may expect but a 10 inch pizza 😯) herbed cream cheese, hard boiled egg, red onion, capers, salsa verde

Angry Crab Linguine - (1/2 portion) blue crab, red onion, english peas, spicy crab sauce, lemon

Gnocchi Alfredo - (1/2 portion) shrimp, sweet corn, fresh basil, crispy onion

No Brunch is complete without clinking glasses 🥂... What We Drank:

Mocktail: Primaberry Lemonade - blueberry, lemon

Cocktails:

Leave the Gun, Take the Banana (word play on The Godfather's, 'leave the gun, take the cannoli',genius!) - bourbon, dark rum, creme de banana, coffee liqueur

Lavender Espresso Martini - lavender vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso garnished with fresh lavender buds

Dante Sour - it's heaven, purgatory, & hell in a glass!

And for DESSERT: freshly made tableside tiramisu 😁

Run... Don't walk to Testa Rossa...

Was super excited to give this place a try while I was back in town visiting family for the weekend. Saw a few videos on TikTok that made me believe it was worth checking out. Unfortunately did not have a great experience here. The food was decent, not the best, but not bad by any means. The service was awful, and as someone in the service industry myself, I try to give grace to others, because I get being weeded. We had a reservation and were sat immediately; however, we were not greeted by our server for probably about 20 minutes. About 15 minutes in, someone (who I believe to be a manager) finally came over and filled up our water glasses and took our drink orders for us. I don’t think she ever put the drink order in though because after 20 minutes after ordering, I approached the bar to check on it and another server walked by and so I asked her to check on it instead. She didn’t go to the bar though, she just went to my server and he came over and told us we were “still waiting on it”. After probably another 5 minutes, I watched him walk up to the bar to look at the ticket and saw that he immediately panicked and realized the ticket was never in and ran to go place it. Not his fault by any means, as I had told him my drink order had already been taken. We ordered appetizers and entrees with him. Apps came out fast and probably about 40 minutes into the experience, we received our entrees. After maybe 5 minutes of having my entree, my drink finally arrived. Extremely disappointing considering I ordered it before we had even ordered food. They were gracious enough to comp the drink at least. We still tipped him a standard 20%, as like I said, I like to give grace, and the issue wasn’t really on him (though could’ve been prevented if he had been a bit more proactive and followed up when I had been waiting already for 20 minutes). As a server, that should be a signal that something isn’t right. Won’t be returning here in the future when I am back to visit my home. Hope it was just an off night for them, but had to leave an honest review as I don’t think it was worth the...

We have been to Testa Rossa 5 times now.

My personal highlights are the food quality, the service and the ambiance.

The wait staff is just good. Professional, know when to show up and do so on time (need another drink or look like you need anything else). Very friendly and professional, and know the menu. They'll go ask the Chef if you ask a detail about a dish, and will get back to you. Amazing.

The food. We have had Pizza, Chicken dishes, most of the appetizers, Pasta dishes. Really we covered 50% of the menu so far and everything has been fantastic. What stands out is the quality. They make a tomato sauce you can not match at home (I try), neither sweet nor bland. Just a balance that is hard to achieve. The lasagna is an experience. They manage to make it 5 or 6 layers but it isn't huge. Yet it is so tasty without thick meat or cheese layers. Just great pasta and really well done sauce and cheese layers.

All the food has been exceptionally well done, you can tell the kitchen has skill and the right tools behind it.

One thing that really stands out is proper portion sizes. I can eat a dish and finish it without either feeling gross, or needing a container to take home. You get a very good portion size, but not the sort of crazy pasta portions you could never finish. Instead, the pasta (in particular) is such high quality you can tell immediately from something you get at the supermarket and make at home.

Given the price range, Testa Rossa outperforms every italian place in West Chester. Every one of them, and we eat out a lot locally. They are all outdone on food quality, price and service.

Testa Rossa is a fantastic newcomer to the area. I know it's the same management as other places that I rated much lower, but at the time of this writing I will claim that you will not find better Italian-American food in the area for the price range.

Absolutely fantastic. We...

Our first time eating here- and it was great! I will def dine here again when in the area. I would def suggest making sure you have a reservation especially on the weekend! People were showing up and it was at least 1.5h wait. Use OpenTable. We had a res and were seated fairly quickly. Our waitress Alice was phenomenal and very helpful when guiding us through the menu. The menu is not super large but some of the items are different and there aren’t many pics online yet. We decided to share some meals, esp after finding out some of the entrees have a half portion and a full portion price. We started with the Margarita Pizza which was very good and perfectly cooked. The tomato “sauce” was perfectly flavored. To share we got the Meatball Ravioli half portion, Cavatelli half portion, and the Stuffed Chicken Parm. The only letdown of all the items was the meatball ravioli- I’m very picky with any meatball and this was not to my taste, my partner like it but did not like it as a ravioli. The chicken parmigiana was my fave of the night- it was huge, and the crust on it was like nothing I ever have. The pasta it came with was perfect and the sauce was a fave. The cavatelli was a second and I would def get again. We skipped dessert- so much food. Overall this was a top place we have eaten and staff including our waitress Alice were phenomenal. Def give this place a try if you are in the area!

In an area of great restaurants, Testa Rossa shines. We came on a weekday for lunch. From the second we entered the service was timely, friendly, and sociable. Our server Noah really went above and beyond for us, guiding us to all the best things, answering every question we had, and checking in on us to make sure we liked everything we got. We got the Caprese Dip as our appetizer, I couldn’t recommend it more. Even if you can only make it over for drinks, do yourself a favor and sit at the bar and get this appetizer! I had the Cheesesteak Pizza which I was practically drooling over, they bake sesame seeds into the crust which give it such a mouth watering flavor it’s the only crust I’ve eaten every scrap of. The drinks are *do not miss* here I had the Gondola Ride to start, they make the basil simple syrup and the limoncello in house and they are delicious, and the Leave the Gun, Take the Banana for dessert with my tiramisu (both the tiramisu and the cocktail climbed my list of favorite things in the area). I also want to shout out their inclusion of Zero Proof cocktails, more places should have this option, my husband tried both and loved them!! This restaurant is an absolute gem and I’d get in before everyone else discovers it too!!
