Read moreI am not a big fan of buffets to start with but my older relatives love them do I try to oblige them on occasion & join them with the family. That being said I will definitely be skipping any future trips to this buffet. It could be a lack of properly trained staff or just a lack of experience but this buffet is definitely one of the least favorable experiences I’ve had. When we first arrived it seemed fairly standard & it wasn’t terribly busy so I assumed the buffet would be clean & well stocked…..wrong! It looked like a hurricane had just whipped they the area, there was food strewn all over the place & the serving utensils appeared to be covered in greasy hand prints. It was quite unappetizing to see such a mess before I could even prepare a plate of food. I decided I would just try the salad bar portion & perhaps the staff (who seemed completely lost) would tidy up & restock the hot foods. The salad bar portion was as bad if not worse than the other areas. There was salad dressing puddles everywhere & it looked like a child had a field day playing in the lettuce & cheese. The ladles for the dressings were not even in the correct containers, it would have been funny if the price for this buffet wasn’t so ridiculously expensive. The one good thing about the Pandemic was not having my family get together at buffets, I guess from now on I will eat beforehand because I definitely won’t be wasting my money in this place. I did ask to speak to a manager but I’m fairly sure the person who came to our table was not the manger but just another employee they sent over so that their manager wouldn’t know how unhappy our large group was, even my most die hard buffet loving family members were disgusted with the entire experience. Golden Corral I suggest you do a retraining session with your staff if you expect to keep any customers, that is unless people jjust want to pay to eat from such a...
Read moreI've been here several times however never reviewed
I'll start with the pros.
The service was great from the individual that got our drinks to the cashier to the waitress, zero complaints.
Now, the reason I am reviewing today is because of this pumpkin pie! It is by far the best pumpkin pie I have ever tasted! My boyfriend hates pumpkin anything and he even said it was really good! It tastes homemade, bursting with that spice flavor and topped with delicious cool whip, you HAVE to try it! I was surprised to even see it as an option in the winter but im so glad it was. It was the highlight of my meal!
The eggs were flavorful. The cheese grits once I doctored them up were very good. Biscuits and white gravy were really good and I am extremely picky about gravy but it has the perfect amount of salt and pepper and the consistency was perfect and it was nice to have a non meat version to choose from. The country fried steak was very good, cooked perfectly and perfect flavor. The fruit was fresh and sweet and tasty.
Now, the cons.
The waffle and churros were both absolutely terrible. By far the worst I've ever tasted. I couldn't even keep it in my mouth, I immediately spit it out. I also tried the potatoes and onions, terrible. No flavor whatsoever and the potatoes were burnt and tasted like it.
I would definitely come back and get the items that were really good. You definitely get a lot for what you pay for. They have a ton of options to choose from. I wish they had more non pork options most of the meat is pork which I don't usually partake in.
I would love to see like a steak option for steak and eggs that would push the experience...
