Five Guys — Restaurant in Cookeville

As I turned the back corner there were employees hanging out the back door. The food is in my opinion considerably overpriced for the quality. My hamburger came with the typical lettuce, tomato and onions. You would have needed large glasses to see the tomato and lettuce slice. The onions were chopped and few. The fries were very salty to the point I took them home to my Grandson. He likes salty fries. The employees were wearing plastic gloves which I liked but as I watched, I noticed the person putting your lettuce, tomato etc on the buns was rubbing his hand along the counter with the same gloves. A woman employee kept rubbing her fingers and making circles with her fingers on the metal counter with the same rubber gloves. I watched this as I ate my hamburger and had my drink. The hamburgers are probably better than most but not at the price charged and with the same people serving them. My cost for 2 hamburgers, large and regular fry and 2 drinks with tax...

After watching Revue of the Week and the Hodgetwins rave about this burger on Youtube I decided to take my daughter there for a burger. 1st the burgers these guys got and the ones we got were not even close in looks. Looked like the same patty you get at McDonalds (tasted like it too). 2nd for the price I expected a great burger. Were we disappointed. The meat was dry and completely tasteless. I would rate the Whopper 2 points higher in taste and 4 points higher in value. After the first bite we looked at each other and frowned, after a couple more bites She said I make a better burger than this. An expensive disappointment, I do not recommend eating here. The quality is not worth the price. I ordered a bacon burger and received a bacon cheeseburger. It came poorly wrapped and upside down in the bag. Toppings were falling off before I had finished unwrapping it. The burger was so poorly put together I had to take it apart and remake it. One of the patties was hanging off halfway. The grilled onions were in there somewhere but I had to search for them and never tasted them. The burger tasted okay which is the only reason I gave them the second star. But for a $9+ burger, it was disappointing. The fries were warm, not hot, soggy and weak.
