Diamond Impact — Local services in Cookeville

My husband and I are from Cookeville but currently live out of state due to my husband being in the military. My wedding ring needed to be sized and need four of the small diamonds replaced. My husband used to work for Chris, the owner, before he joined the military so he felt he could trust him to size and repair my wedding ring. We dropped it off with him thanksgiving when we were in town and he said he would have it repaired and sized for pick up when we came back in town for Christmas. He quoted us at about $150. We picked it up on the 16th and he charged us a little over $300 because “he had to order higher quality diamonds than he originally thought”. We were fine with this because we knew the diamonds were high quality. The size was right, but after looking at it closer the four diamonds he replaced were of lower quality than the original ones, they stand out yellow next to all the white ones. And two of which he replaced fell out within 3 days. He said he would order higher quality ones and replace them and to drop it off on the 26th and we could pick it back up on the 28th or 30th at the latest because we have to leave town on the 1st to be back at Fort Bragg. We texted him to see when we could pick it up today and he said maybe the 4th that he had to wait on the order to come in that it isn’t here yet due to holidays. At this point we are highly upset and disappointed. We went to the store to ask if we could just get the ring and our money back and only be charged for the sizing since we don’t want it to be shipped at a later date since we knew we could now no longer trust him since he already upcharged us for diamonds that did not match and fell out. IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD: My fiancé and I purchased my engagement ring here. It is beautiful. I was told that they would size it for free. The woman said the sizing would take about 10 minutes and I could come back the next day. When I went in the next day, the owner wasn’t there (he does the sizing and repairs). This happened 3 days in a row. Finally on Monday I went in and he was there, but he told me it would not be ready until Wednesday. I contacted them Wednesday to see what time I could come get it and they said that it would not be ready until Thursday now. She told me I could come get it around 3. I arrived at 3:30pm and was told to come back after 5:30...meanwhile, I have the flu while I am dealing with all this. I get a call around 4:30 that my ring is ready. I go back, try it on, and it looks great. Then the guy starts ringing up my total...I stopped him because his wife had said the sizing would be free. He calls her on speakerphone and she tries to say that she told me it would only be free if they went half a size up(which was all I asked him to do). He says “Well I went up a whole size”. Not my problem if you didn’t run it by me first. He tried to tell me the ring would not fit on my finger if he only went up half a size. Which is funny because it fit my finger before I had it sized. It was just slightly snug. Eventually, he states it’s fine and not to worry about it. As I was leaving, he had to audacity to say to his employee “I hate customers like this”...so buyer beware...they will sweet talk you and make all sorts of promises, but if you are the kind of customer who expects them to stick to their word, they will hate you and try to...

My husband and I went in to get a battery replaced in a watch and all the beautiful jewelry caught my eye. My husband decided that I needed a new wedding ring. I looked and looked with the help of the amazing sales lady. I narrowed it down to three but couldn't decide (I'm very indecisive). The wonderful sales lady took the three I had picked out, and pulled my husband aside so they could talk price and which one to get. He picked out the perfect one.
