Food is good, though seems some from frozen, such a samosas, clean and nice place to bring friends, great spices, many choices to try, interesting beer varieties. I'm here now, though, and confused by the young waiter, though nice enough at first, after waiting and then us having to ask him if we could please get drinks, then waiting another 15 min for him to take our order and only 2 small groups here, we asked about a couple dishes we hadn't tried yet and he said he didn't know about them, he'd "never eaten them," strange response, he then, brought us our drinks with 4-5 pieces of ice, so we nicely asked if he would take our empty water glasses and fill with ice and he came back -- with, seriously, 4-5 very small small pieces of ice lying at the bottom of the glass, it was like we were on Impractical Jokers, I waited for someone to jump out! I asked if there was an issue with the ice maker, possibly, you never know and didn't want to make it hard on him, and he mumbled no, and stood there, so we asked if he could please fill the small cups with ice, he ROLLED HIS EYES, and came back with them like we were being obnoxious, really not sure what the deal is, got our samosas and asked for the sauce and he said there's none except what we had with the free sesame cracker, which was very runny, watery, I explained I'd eaten here many times and that was not right, it was the consistency of soy sauce, so the owner or cook, or manager came out, we explained and he knew right away and brought us the delicious sauce we enjoy so much. Maybe just an off day, but not the experience we normally would enjoy. Due to the service, we just ate appetizers this time. Wait staff should know ingredients, plates offered,...
Read moreI recently visited Parsis Indian Grill after noticing its 4.3-star rating, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t align with the expectations of authentic Indian cuisine.
The chicken dishes—especially Chicken Manchow Soup, Hot & Sour Soup, Chicken 65, and Goat Biryani—were underwhelming. The chicken felt undercooked, chewy, and possibly stale, with several dishes severely lacking seasoning and depth. Despite a request for Chicken 65 to be remade, the flavor profile remained flat. The Apollo 65 was passable, and the Butter Naan with Chicken Curry was relatively better but still not remarkable. The Chicken Fried Rice was overly greasy, overshadowing any nuanced flavors.
The only notable positive was the Gulab Jamun, which was well-prepared, and the hospitality extended by the staff, especially the lady at the front, which deserves appreciation.
The presentation, plateware, and overall culinary execution need significant improvement. For a restaurant that aims to showcase Indian flavors, there’s a pressing need to enhance authenticity, balance of spices, and ingredient quality.
I hope the team works on refining the taste experience, as Indian cuisine has a rich tapestry of flavors worth...
Read moreWe love Indian food and eat (or make it) quite often. I was so looking forward to trying this new-to-us place, but we are left not only disappointed, but feeling "scammed" as our middle child puts it. First, let me be positive in saying the flavor wasn't bad - I would give it a strong "okay" - the issue for us was that every dish we ordered (Dal Tadka, Paneer Tikka Masala, Aloo Bogi Masala) was very watery. "Cooked in water" as the menu says has not historically meant runny. The only reason I'm taking the time to write a review is because for the price, we feel ripped off. There was little substance in our food. The Dal was like blended lentils without the lentils. The Samosas were okay - impossible to be watery, so I didn't include in my above list; however, the chutney sauce was pretty much green, runny water. Do they intentionally water it all down to cut costs? It's true that food sourcing companies are charging more, so this is a tough spot for restaurants. Regardless of what the reasons are, we won't find ourselves returning here. I'm sorry to report this as running a restaurant is not easy. Still, we limit our eating-out budget, so we cannot justify a...
