First off I started going to Tommy years ago when he was at Foxy Nails. For you old timers you know how long ago this was. Love Tommy and his wife but think they have gotten complacent and apathetic about their business. The reason I'm taking the time to write this review and the reason I'm giving a 1, (I'd give a minus if it were available) is because of the way I was treated today. First off I had an appointment with Ernie. He was working on someone else and was 35 minutes late. Okay, that happens. But he never acknowledged this or in fact never acknowledged my presence when I sat down. He was busy texting on his phone. When I inquired about acrylic nails and gel polish he obviously did not want to do acrylic nails. So I asked, do you acrylics? He said I never do acrylics but if that's what you want fine. So I said well I will try the new nexgen nails. So without a word he starts doing my nails. The entire time I'd been in the chair he never gave me eye contact. I sat there thinking why is he treating me this way? Does he think I'm someone else or does he just not like the way I look or what is the deal? I felt very uncomfortable. The only words that were spoken were to ask essential questions and they were mumbled through a mask and I had to have him repeat them. The whole time he did my nails he was fixated on his phone. When he finished he never once asked if I liked them, if they were okay, hope you come back, nothing. And I will say he did an okay job. The nails were fine. It was the service I have an issue with. There are countless nail salons in Cookeville and I am always a good tipoer. I tip when my nails are just so so if the tech is personable. To me that means a lot. But when the nails are great and the tech is personable I tip off the charts. This is the first time I've ever walked out of a service oriented business without leaving a tip. So with the many salons in town I will take my hard earned money and business to one that is appreciative for my business. If others have the same experience as I've had today, Tommy and his wife will have to get a better grasp on client experience or they will have lots of free time on...
Read moreI have been to several nail places but I normally always come back to Tommy nails because they usually do a good job they are just usually pretty busy which generally is a good thing. I got my nails done last Wednesday (it has not even been a week) but on the second day I already had one nail lifting. And by today (five days later) I had several lifting and by this point I was fed up and just took them all off after paying almost $60 after tip and all. I cannot stand to be missing nails which is why they all came off but it wasn't hard to get them off they were barely hanging on anyways. They told me they would fix one but then was too busy to get me in and told me if I came back the next day they would get me in really quick before my hair appointment, well that did not happen either and they knew what time I was coming and told me that would work so I had to leave without getting them fixed again. Also feel bad for even saying anything because the lady that did my nails was extremely nice and they did look good but they just did not last at all. And I would've been completely fine if they would've just been able to fix them I came back twice to get them fixed and then they were wanting me to come back again which I work constantly so I did not have time. I guess I wanna have to look around for a new place to get my nails done I got a few suggestions to try out. I wish I would've took a picture before I shut them off I just so happen to see this one from where I was taking another picture and you can see the Band-Aids for me trying to cover up my...
Read moreI used to go to Tommy Nails awhile ago and I loved going there. Everyone was very friendly and nice!! I went there today and it has changed soooo much!! I had an appointment with Rose for pedicure and NexGen nails. I got there early and they told me Rose would be with me soon, so I was just standing there waiting (and I was fine with that) but I must've made them nervous cause I was told several times to have a seat. Anyway, Tommy took me to a pedicure chair, Rose came over and started working on my pedicure with barely a word spoken to me, but many spoken to her fellow workers. When she was finished with the pedicure I was very happy with it. It used to be they would help you gather your stuff and bring you to another chair, or at least wait for you but no not Rose. I told her that I wanted ombre color, she immediately said she doesn't do that it takes way too long and she doesn't like that but I could go to someone else who does do it (none of them were available, but I could wait though) told her no.. So there I was sitting there getting what I really didn't want with someone who really didn't seem to want to do it. Personable she was NOT, Friendly she was NOT, Happy I was NOT!! I tip really well for good personable service (as I did work in the service business) which is why I did leave a tip but a Really Well tip,...
