I am asian and I was racially profiled here. Police called on me.
On Friday May 27, 2022 I felt racially profiled after shopping here by the action of Sportsman's warehouse management. An asian paying customer isn't friendly looking enough to them.
I traveled over 30 minutes to get to this location to buy some fly tying supplies before store close. Store close at 9 PM but a few other retailers attached to the same building and sharing the same parking lot don't close until 10pm such as Target and Home Depot. It's not uncommon for closed stores earlier than others to have vehicle traffics on the lot since they are attached to multiple retailers. I was able to buy and check out the supplies I needed by 8:55PM.
Since I was really tired and my feet hurt from work and driving long distance, I decided to take a short breaks from driving before heading home. From reading other reviews it's also not uncommon for people to travel long distance to this place it is a specialty outdoor retail store. Everything went fine until then.
By the time the employees went home for the day I was still resting in my car minding my own business.
On their way home, management that was closing that night thought it was appropriate to call the police on their paying customer out of stereotypical fear.
I was shocked and found out that management at this Sportsman's Warehouse called the police on me, their paying customer because the police came and relay a message to me and the first thing they told me is that management called fearing that I was possibly staking out the place for a break in which is ridiculous because I just got done buying fly tying equipment using my personal cards from them and the store also have my personal informations, name, phone number, address stored in their system as I take part in their loyalty program.
I explained my situation to the police and to take a quick look at the building, It's all concrete and from the inside it's secured with a heavy duty garage type sliding door.
The police agreed that it looked nearly impossible for anyone to break in. Not just that it's attached and in plain view of other big retailers such as Target, Homedepot and public traffic. They didn't even bother asking for my identification and just told me to have a nice day and that stores were closed which I was planning to leave anyway around this time. They went their way didn't bother to wait for me to leave since I m just a paying customers taking a break from driving. They left the parking lot.
There were a few dozen other vehicles in the shared parking lot and police didn't bother approaching any other vehicles as they were just doing their job and responding to Sportsman's management request which is fine.
I just want to remind everyone that parking in this shared lot is also not illegal in any way especially if you are a paying customer but it does feels really bad driving by couple dozen other retailer's customers a few spots over while they aren't getting harassed or have the police called on them. It also feels really bad that I drove a long distance to come and spend money from this retailer and they end up calling the police on me at the end of the day out of stereotypical fear.
The real problem here is Sportman's Warehouse management ignorant and racist actions and I m not going to sugar coat it.
They felt fine walking to their car going home for the day but they felt the need to call the police on their paying customers of colors based on their own ignorance, racism, racist imagination, racist stereotype and racist fear that I might be staking the place out for a break in because the color of my skin even after I just got done buying supplies from them.
"staking out the place for a break in" aren't even my own word but the message the police relayed back to me directly from Sportsman's Warehouse Management that night.
You can't hide your racist mind and racially profiling actions behind the police. It's very clear I am not welcomed to shop here as an...

Introduction: Welcome to my review of Sportsman's Wearhouse, where I aim to provide you with an honest and detailed assessment of my experience. As a friendly helper, I value your time and want to ensure you make informed decisions. Let's dive into the various aspects of my visit to Sportsman's Wearhouse.
Price and Clothing Selection: While there is no denying that Sportsman's Wearhouse tends to lean towards the pricier side, it's important to consider the quality and durability of the clothing they offer. The clothing at this store may be deemed expensive, but it often reflects the high standard of craftsmanship and materials used. However, if you have a tight budget, it might not be the ideal place for you. Despite the higher price range, the store boasts an extensive selection of clothing styles, ensuring that customers have a wide range of options to choose from.
Ammo Selection: One aspect that disappointed me during my visit was the limited range of ammo available. It's essential for a sporting goods store like Sportsman's Wearhouse to cater to the diverse needs of its customers, especially when it comes to ammunition. While the store might excel in other areas, the limited ammo selection can be a drawback for those seeking a wider range of options. However, it's worth noting that they might have specific reasons for the limited selection, such as local regulations or supply chain challenges.
Inventory: On a positive note, Sportsman's Wearhouse boasts an impressive inventory, catering to a variety of outdoor activities and sports. From hunting gear to fishing equipment, camping essentials, and more, you'll likely find everything you need in one place. The store's commitment to maintaining a well-stocked inventory ensures that customers won't have to visit multiple stores to fulfill their outdoor needs. This convenience factor is definitely a standout feature of Sportsman's Wearhouse.
Conclusion: In conclusion, Sportsman's Wearhouse offers a mixed experience. While the clothing may be expensive, its durability and quality might justify the higher price point for some customers. The limited ammo selection can be a downside, but the store's extensive inventory compensates for it by providing a wide range of other outdoor gear. Ultimately, it's essential to consider your specific needs and priorities when deciding whether to shop at...
Read moreI will never again purchase a firearm from this company. We purchased pistols back 2 years ago and a gentleman working behind the counter was making jokes about "retards" while handing out firearms to multiple customers unattended. He justified his behavior of talking about and making gestures of "retards" by telling me that his nephew is retarded, and he likes being called that so its ok for him to say that. I let him know that I had a kiddo sitting in a SPED class in that very moment. He didn't care. Continued to laugh it off Infront of over 4 customers.
Then yesterday we were in Sportsmans Warehouse again and approached the gun counter to see this same man smacking the handgun in a customer's hand. I would say he slapped the man's hand (with a pistol in it) about 5 times. He may have been trying to explain something to the gentleman looking at the pistol, but it defiantly came to a surprise to the man holding the gun and fellow employees. One employee even looked nervous and said something to which the man made a joke and laughed it off...
Why this guy still works for you guys is still a mystery to me as he is inappropriate and unsafe. This cant me just my experience as its been over 2 years of watching this man make a joke of people and guns but yet he is selling them for your establishment. Yesterday I walked out after watching him smacking a gun around in a customer's hand and i will not be shopping there again and I sure hope anyone who respectfully owns a gun or plans to purchase a gun to not go there. THIS DOES NOT REPRESENT THE GUN OWNERS CUMMUNITY! HE IS NOT TREATING FIREARMS WITH RESPECT, HE IS UNSAFE AND SPORTSMANS WEARHOUSE ALLOWS...
