I had a very poor experience over the phone with Linda at the Corvallis store. I was calling back because of a missed call, most likely for the christmas ornament that we have been waiting for. I called and was very nice and said that I had missed a call yesterday and that I was assuming that it was to let me know that the ornament was ready. Linda's only reply was "yeah, I'm assuming so too", in a manner that was very clear that she didn't want to be on the phone. After a pause she then asked as if she was irritated, "well what do you want, are you wanting to know if it is here?". Clearly that was the purpose of my call. I am a customer, with money, so I am very unsure why she was so inconvienced by me. I was shocked at her tone and lack of customer service and noted to her, that I did quite understand why she sounded so irritated by this. She then again irritatedly said "Well Im trying to get the cash till ready here." At that point I just said okay and wished her a good day and hung up the phone, because of how rudely she was speaking. I am beyond shocked at how curt this woman was to me, a customer, who was simply calling back to see if my ornament was there. And then to get irritated with me because she was the one multitasking. This is a very very poor way to treat customers. I would much rather of bought online elsewhere than be treated poorly by a local store, that I have to drive 20 miles to give my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFound what I needed (and then some) for my bestieās birthday - we both have big birthdays coming up (with new numbers before the 0ās at the end - yikes!), so I thought it would be fun to see what was available as a keepsake to celebrate together. Got what I needed plus a truffle to-go and it was a good experience overall.
No one was pushy, not like they are at some other shops that I will not name here. There were two fabulous cheerful helpful women who made the experience pleasant and deserve 5 stars. I only add 4 stars here because there was also one woman who works there who was highly unpleasant and standoffish. I get it, we all have bad days, but this is my second really uncomfortable exchange with her. I wonāt be coming back because of this, but it really is a cute little shop worth stopping in on a calm day.
Itās the holiday season, so parking can be tough on weekends and after work hours - especially with the shipping place nextdoor (UPS maybe? I forgot exactly what the store was, but it gets super busy there⦠people taking in Christmas gifts for the mail, Amazon returns, etc). Thereās always plenty of parking on the larger side of the lot, but expect to walk quite a ways if you donāt find parking...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have been shopping in this Hallmark store for many years now and can tell you these girls go out of their way to make sure your taken care of. They acknowledge you when you first come in the store and ask if you need any help and if you tell them your just there to see the new ornaments they let you do that too. Then if you have questions they are available to help as long as you need them. I have been to a lot of Hallmark stores and this one gets it right not to clingy but always alert to tell when you might be needing a little help. I recommend this store to anyone in the Corvallis area looking for a special gift a great card and the best quality paper and bows and...
