Ylang Ylang Nail Salon — Local services in Costa Mesa

"Good from afar, but far from good" . This photo is from yesterday. I had to come here 3 times to try and have the original job fixed, and it's still botched. I'm sad to leave this negative review because they were very friendly and the salon is a peaceful atmosphere, but the job done was unacceptable. All 3 times, the nail tech painted above the nail and onto the cuticle. Meaning the moment my nail starts to grow, the polish will lift and peel. Which is what I kept trying to have them fix, because it kept peeling 2 days later. If you zoom in on these photos you can see it on almost half of my nails. Furthermore, to get the gel polish off, they went straight for the drill. Multiple times I had to pull my hand away as the electric file went through the polish and started to eat away at my actual nail. In the past, the tech would soak my nails, then apply the acetone, cotton balls, foil. Let it sit long enough to scrape off. But this just felt rushed, lazy and aggressive. In the past, the drill is only used for Acrylics. I only do gel manicures. My nails are now paper thin and my manicure will be a mess in 2 days time. I unfortunately will not be returning for...

I went in and wanted a GEL BONDING FILL. They told me they do provide this service. I sat down with Connie and she filed down and prep the nails and started to put the acrylic pink powder.......thats not what I wanted. Told her I wanted GEL BONDING, she said this is gel powder. I told her again and told her I was allergic to acrylic powder because it burns my skin. She removed it so fast and said "oh. Ok I remove for you, sorry"Goes and talks to the, Im assuming the manager, and they ended up doing the dip powder on me. This was on Friday 1/29/21. Today is 1/31/2021....2 days later and they are lifting and breaking from the cuticle. All Im saying if you dont provide the service people ask....dont LIE. Dont tell me its "GEL POWDER" when its regular acrylic powder. Dont lie because customers will not come back....and.....I paid $33 dollars for them to fall/lift in 2 days. Its just not...

i can’t say enough nice things about this salon. i moved across the street a few months ago, and i went in for the first time this morning (didn’t feel like driving to my old salon in orange). they were able to get me in first thing and gave me literally the best mani pedi i’ve ever had in my life! i wanted to treat myself because i’m going through a breakup, and this was exactly the experience i needed. i believe my nail tech was Mia, and i didn’t get the name of the sweet lady who did my toes, but they were both so amazing and took such great care of me. they did masks on my hands and feet, and each gave me a 10 minute massage. i seriously thought i was going to cry midway just from the gratitude i felt from being so taken care of by these ladies. thank you Ylang Ylang, Mia, and my pedicurist!!! please give this salon a visit next time you need your...
