Was attempting to trade in a video game accessory, presented to cashier the offer from the website âshow this at any GameStop location to receive $50 in credit for your trade in.â This location would not accept it. I asked if they could tell me which other local GameStop could - despite that the website clearly said âgo to ANY GameStopâ - and they told me to call around. I canât remember the last time I had a positive experience at a GameStop. Their constantly pushing scammy subscription or extended warranty services, bundling consoles with unwanted accessories or games, or not honoring deals that I can find FROM THEIR WEBSITE online. Even ordering from their website online isnât reliable - my orders have shown up late or cancelled without notice. Hopefully, Iâll never have to set foot in a GameStop again. Iâve never never been so eager to see a brick and mortal retail business go out of business. GameStop is a terrible company that doesnât deserve even the meager attention that this negative review...
Read moreMy boyfriend went in there today by himself while I waited in the car, he was offered a one year or a two year warranty on a new controller that was $65. My boyfriend said no thanks. Our bank app notified us that there was an $88 charge and upon checking the receipt we find that Carlos charged us for a warranty when my boyfriend told me he clearly said no. I go in myself to get the situation figured out and Carlos states he asked if my bf wanted a one year or two year warranty and he says my bf relied with one year. How do you get the phrase âno thank youâ and âone yearâ mixed up? But I must say this isnât the first time weâd been charged for a warranty we didnât want by this guy and at this point we feel itâs on purpose and he just hopes we donât notice. One time okay it couldâve been an accident but twice⊠doesnât seem like an accident at this point. We got the warranty charge refunded to us but if something like this happens again Iâll consider this dude to be charging my card extra...
Read moreWe were greeted when we entered, which was a nice start, but the experience quickly became frustrating. The staff were overly persistentâchecking in every two minutesâwhen all we really wanted was some space to browse and move around freely. We ended up spending $130 at the store, including a One Piece Lounge-fly backpack that my wife, purchased. One of the employees made unnecessary comments about the backpack, mocking its size and price, saying it was way too expensive for something so small. That felt really disrespectful. On top of that, when we asked to take a closer look at the backpack, the employee held onto it the entire time and wouldnât even let my wife hold or look inside it herself.
Weâre not saying anyone should lose their job over this, but it was a frustrating experience, and we think someone should speak to the staff about being more respectful and giving customers a bit more space to...
