We got a new Lg Electronics oven with smart technology. It uses @LG smart thinq app for your smartphone. One of the top reasons I wanted the stove. I downloaded the app to find that it doesn't work with iOS and the appliance is not connecting with the Wifi.
At one point they said, āYouāll need to call your carrier.ā After 8 days of being pushed between The Home Depot and LG services pointing fingers, ānot our faultā, they finally sent out a technician. Before the guy even came into the house he saw we have iPhones and said, āIt does not work with iOS.ā
Because itās over the 48 hours for returns, even though I was calling since the day it was installed, I am now stuck with a stove that I paid to fully function that doesnāt.
Sure the app can download to your phone and open, but it canāt connect to the stove. Pointless. The app for iOS is pretty much a weather app.
Very disappointed, especially, since it says āworks with iOSā.
I know there are worst things in this world and I do love the stove (outside of the smart technology) but when you spend a chunk of money on something and youāre mislead by the dealer and manufacture, it still sucks. And now Iām angry at myself for being angry. Sigh.
I should mention that HD gave me a GC for my troubles. You know, so I continue to shop there. Deflated. HD should also be held accountable for selling products that are misleading to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreRead until the end, it's worthy We made a purchase online, I was aiming for a washer and dryer set, but ended up selecting the wrong dryer. The third party delivery service was a true nightmare. They couldn't move the appliances upstairs at first because they had muddy shoes and didn't have shoe protectors, refused to take their shoes off, we had to reschedule their visit so they could move the appliances upstairs and unpack it (they still stained our new carpet and scratched walls), that's when we realized we had the wrong dryer - it had already passed the 48 hours to return. We called customer service, it was VERY frustrating how little they seemed to care about our issue - they said our only option was to sell it on craigslist. I decided to go to the Cranberry store and talk to someone in person, and it was a whole other situation. They listened, explained what they could do, escalated it internally considering the whole back and forth we had that prevented us from complaining within 48 hours, got the approvals they needed for a return, and called me the next day with a solution! THIS is customer service! The return/exchange hasn't happened yet, so I might come back with an update, but so far, their feedback and attitude are very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHad a flooring install done. Flooring is fine, but HD measured wrong initially, resulting in a significant overage in materials (135 feet leftover floor, not needed) plus a corresponding overbilling on installation since it is charged per foot of installed floor. HD took the materials back (mind you we had to schlep 10 boxes of heavy flooring, 10 tubes of caulking, and many many feet of baseboard and trim to the store - after having paid for delivery!) but I have been fighting for a month now to get money back on the install part of the cost. Since HD makes you pay the full amount of material and labor up front and well in advance of the install, you have little recourse in my situation except to hope they do the right thing (they don't). I understand this is only a few hundred dollars, but it is what is due to me and I should not have to fight so hard for it. It should have been immediately refunded after the materials were brought back. I would not recommend a floor install by HD. If you do, be prepared to fight about the bill and set aside lots and lots of time to make many calls to the store, to corporate to the installers- rinse and repeat- and keep record of your frustrated attempts to get what you should get....
