I am giving this business zero stars. I walked in with a medium pile of jewelry to sell, and felt like such a sucker by Tom, who gave me, in all less than 15 minutes of his time, for two visits to his store. He refused to take personal interest in my "many" pieces of jewelry. He did not examine each one and quote price. Just piled it up, and interrupt his busy day, to explain in detail why my good jewelry was invaluable jewelry. Just depends on two staff members "opinions" to set the price. A little lady and this guy who was slick as can be. He was in "training." Tom does not tell the truth, and will not listen to me. I called him to tell him I was disgruntled, and he hung up on me, then an hour or more later he called back and told me he had a meeting. No good bye, just click. An example, he only gave me $325, for everything, including a small platinum antique ring with a diamond; and a bold marquie ring, I went back in, he and gave me $60 more dollars, and he said, "Well you got $410, that's closer to $500". Do the math. I said nothing, took the cash; I left. I am telling my friend who owns an upscale restaurant in town, to refrain from sending people to this buiness. I recommend anyone "new" going to this business will not be treated well. He short changed me on the amount of money he would give me. Another example, He told me a ring was silver, and the little lady said it was platinum. Also they are rude, and do not wait on people in the order they come in. Get a ticket system, so it's fair to the customer. He will turn around and sell a tourquise necklace with rare tourquise stones, probably, for over $400, and cast it aside when I showed it too him, saying it is out of style. Another example, he told a customer buying jewelry, and gave her attention first, when I was his next client. He told her marquise diamonds were very popular. Quoting a price to her of $1500, when he talked to me about my complaint and to give me another lousy $60. I said you just told that lady marquise are popular ! He said, "Too small!! Yours is too small." The diamond was at least a 1/2 to 1 carat, plus baquettes down each side. How big do they need to be. I was a fool, I should have walked out from the beginning. His pricing was an insult, and his tone was an insult. He was apologetic, saying he didn't run an unfair business taking advantage of people. It wasn't good business. Had he been the one to price the jewelry, not his flaky employees, I would have felt at ease. He makes enough money.... These type of establishments are common, this one is a danger, just another rip off. Buyer...
Read moreOvercharged. And you'll need patience if you go here.
My husband stopped in to ask about coins, clearly intending to buy. First time here. Tom (owner?) was initially helpful and friendly, and the two other men helping were extremely nice. Every time Tom would finish up with another customer, he'd reassure all the other customers waiting what order he was going to do things in, and reconfirming what we each were there for.
After an hour and a half of being "next up," the false promise got old. And him getting distracted by new customers and talking excessively about non-business was excruciating. He couldn't complete a sentence without losing his train of thought or interrupting himself.
When my husband finally said, "Hey Tom, I've been here an hour and half, can I please look at what you have," Tom questioned how long we'd actually been waiting, and he got short with us.
Eventually, he made the sale, over charged what he actually said the price was (we didn't argue because we valued our weekend time more), and said that when we come back, it'd be faster if we called ahead so he could be ready. My husband HAD CALLED yesterday AND this morning (and yes he spoke to Tom himself both times).
We're happy to have something to show for our stopping in, but mentally and emotionally it was not worth the trip. Only comfort I have is the knowledge that we will never have to listen to Tom ever again and that we are...
Read moreTom fixed some items for me in the past and the work was good. However, 1 necklace piece broke in the exact place where it was originally broken when I tried putting it on after bringing it home. I explained to Tom this issue, but he didn't believe me, and told me my necklace was no better than scrap. Of course he's going to say that so i would accept his next to nothing offer on it! 🙄The necklace broke in the first place because it was in a knot. I put on the necklace using no force and the link slipped out like it was only replaced in the link but the jeweler forgot to solder. With how disorganized this place is, and how scatterbrained the jeweler is, i imagined something like this happening before it happened, but my mother insisted he was good and to take it back to him but he charged $45!! To solder a 2mm chain! Not honest! NOT again! He won't call when your piece is done. Take a look for yourself the disaster this place is you'll know the minute you walk in the door and the staff take over an hour to recognize you're even there. Rays Jewelers near south county mall will solder gold chains for $25 not 45 like this place. It was a RIPOFF TOM!...
