So …..I decided to take my family out to dinner tonight August 12. We get to the hostess desk and are greeted by a young woman, who basically hates her life and definitely hates her job. She had no smile or kindness and spoke in a standoffish, rude manner while slumped over and barely looking at us. She quoted us a 20 to 30-minute wait. After waiting for 45 minutes, I approached her at the desk and was told that we still had multiple parties in front of us and that she had no idea when we would be sat. She said that she didn’t know how long we would wait and I said well you quoted us 20 to 30 minutes and she goes yeah but that’s never right. I said could you find out how much longer it’s going to be. She then called over a manager about 10 minutes later who then from across the room told us that we would still be waiting a while rudely and very obnoxiously. Actually, he yelled at us - Your table is not ready yet. As you can imagine this sparked some anger in me so I approached the hostess desk and was told that no one ever knows how long a party‘s gonna have to wait and that we should just sit and figure it out and be patient. I’m not so sure I’ve ever been talked to so rudely in my life and if my children would not have been with me, there would’ve been a scene that would’ve not went well for this manager. We should’ve left but at this point, we had already been there forever. We sat down for another 10 minutes and then our party was finally taken to our seats after waiting for an hour and 10 minutes. After the manager sat us, I said, thank you sir trying to be kind after he had been rude to us. Then he ignored me and rudely walked by me. I then said thank you he still ignored me so then I chased him down and said excuse me thank you to his face which then still never responded. I’m not so sure this person should ever be dealing with the public. I would love to talk to the owner or manager of the store and let him know how awful this human being is. Our food took another 50 minutes to get to us but honestly, it was good. Our waitress Ruby was wonderful. Unfortunately because of the manager and hostess, we will not return here unless I am looking for a place to get in a fight. Not so sure I’ve ever been treated like that or talked to that way before at...
Read moreWent to Longhorn Steakhouse for a Monday business lunch. The adventure started with their complimentary bread, which had all the flavor and excitement of cardboard that someone forgot to season. The butter was equally thrilling - basically expensive air in dairy form. My business associate and I sat there chewing what could have been edible packing material while pretending it was a good start to our meal. Then I ordered the Outlaw Steak medium well because I like my beef more law-abiding than outlaw, apparently. For $32, I expected something that had at least made friends with the grill. What arrived at my table was less "medium well" and more "barely introduced to the concept of heat." This steak was so rare it was practically still grazing. I ordered medium well but got something that looked like it could walk back to the kitchen on its own four legs. The blood pooling on my plate made it look like a crime scene from a Western movie. In desperation, I squeezed half a bottle of ketchup on it trying to hide the carnage. Nothing screams "fine dining" like turning your $32 steak into a crime scene cover-up with Heinz. My business associate watched in horror as I essentially performed forensic cleanup on my lunch. The grease situation was equally impressive. I have never seen a piece of meat sweat that much - it was like the steak had performance anxiety about being so undercooked. Between the blood and the grease, my plate looked like a mechanic's workbench. My napkin looked like I had been changing oil instead of eating lunch. The bright spot? The salad was actually good. Crisp, fresh, and thankfully not bleeding. Sometimes the side dishes are the real heroes. To the kitchen staff: when someone orders medium well, they do not want to perform CPR on their dinner or need condiment camouflage to make it edible. For $32, I expect my steak to be cooked, not auditioning for a horror movie. Save the rare steaks for customers who actually order them. Will I be back? Maybe, but next time I am bringing a thermometer, possibly a defibrillator and perhaps some seasoning...
Read moreLet me start with the food was good the day I left this review, when it normally isn’t. I couldn’t let the cooks take the hit for this immature Manager named Carly who felt $2 was worth this bad review and no tip.
They ran out of fries, my child’s favorite. They call to let me know about 40 min later. I tell them the only other thing my child likes is asparagus. They say okay that will be an up charge. Really? You’re inconveniencing me, and you’re going to charge me the $2 fee? because you ran out of fries? She doesn’t eat baked or sweet potatoes. She’s a child.
They always get our order wrong, or the food isn’t warm, or taste warmed up… so they owe us already…. And that $2 on my over $80 order was worth this one star when you could have simply rectified you running out of something I’d ordered. Everyone who’s around here knows you have to check your food with them.
Then Carly the manager proudly tells me that if she did it for me she’d have to do it for everyone. So, you always run out of fires? If so then I guess you should do it for everyone when you run out and don’t make them aware until 40 min later when it’s on the menu. Carly was very sarcastic and snarky with her reply. The yellow headed woman behind the counter smiled gladly. I didn’t come in angry. I came in calm, polite, and respectful and this is what I was greeted with.
I had to tell myself these are minimum wage employees that could careless. It could’ve been me and I too may be taking pride in moments like this that make that wage feel more worth it.
Those who do care who work in this industry, you deserve a raise. Manager Carly and the young woman with the yellow hair deserve a performance review with a 1 rating where 5 is excellent and 1 is poor.
Why do I go here? It’s the closest and the only place that sales what everyone of my...
