Athletic Zone — Local services in Dallas

I love this gym — the energy, the community, and the fact that it’s Black-owned truly sets it apart. The staff is friendly, the events are engaging, and working out with my trainer has been a game changer. However, I can’t give a full 5 stars because the lack of air ventilation is a serious issue. In the summer, it regularly reaches over 90 degrees inside with no AC, ceiling fans, or open windows — just a few small fans that barely move air in this warehouse-sized space. It makes working out extremely uncomfortable, and I’ve even left with headaches from the heat. The workouts are amazing, but something absolutely needs to change with the facility conditions for the health and safety...

Great place, really good coach (coach King, is who I took my assessment with) Only thing about this place I did not like was there is no boxing classes on the weekend and there are no built in showers. They are in the process of installing showers, and when they do I will be joining this place. Hopefully, the showers are individual and nice. Athletic Zone does a body good! I've been going for about a month now & its one of the best decisions I've made going into the new year. I've done workouts with multiple trainers there & all of them have been personable, professional & motivating. No matter what your goals are, they have a workout for you! These guys know their stuff!
