Came on Valentine's Day wanted to take my family and show all a good time...Management and staff were rude...No staff was ready to begin services when we arrived, staff was all over the place. We had to seat ourselves and were basically told that this is what we are suppose to do. In times past, we have been kindly escorted to our seats. When we mentioned this to management, we were told that in times passed this was only done as a courtesy (as if we were not suppose to receive this courtesy on Valentine's Day?!). This may have been one of the things that kept me choosing this spa instead of another nail spa.
When business is right, staff is there already running water to begin pedicures and nail techs have tools at your station ready to begin working on your nails. We scheduled this appointment in advance. We asked what time would be best for us to come on Valentine's Day (explaining how many of us were coming and that we had another appointment afterward that was also very important). We were willing to come at an earlier or a different time. The lady we spoke with insisted that we come at that time. I was 2 minutes late, so the manager tried to use this as an excuse to keep all of us waiting. However, members of our party who had called to make the appointment arrived early and on time...but when they checked in there was no one ready nor waiting to begin our services. However, our group was loud talked in front of other customers and told that they were not present during the time the service was to begin.
All who arrived early were sitting waiting to be helped, but no staff had began on their nails or even looked like they were ready to start on their nails once I arrived. The manager literally stood in the middle of the floor and argued back and forth with my mother, my sister and I regarding our punctuality. They were not ready to take the 2 or 3 who came early...Don't lie and say that, now...5 minutes later you are still unable to get staff to service us because it was our fault due to running 2 to 3 minutes behind that not one of the services was in progress on time.
The thing is that the manager did not even know what time the first members of our party had checked in. He was going by what someone else (the lady in front with the bob) told him . She only told him whatever she needed to tell him in order to cover herself, and he based our punctuality on the lie that she gave him. Still he argued back and forth with my mother as though he was there when she arrived and saw with his own eyes when the first members of our party came through the door.
To add,... since we first began coming here...we have not received quality work as we have paid for every single time (ex: mani/ pedi massages half completed or not done at all...lack of communication from staff as they disappear and start on a new guest...staff not oiling hands as requested, rather being told in so many words that oiling fingers is not what they do). I mean...it makes their work look more appealing and presentable...plus the customer is more likely to come back if you add a little less "I don't care" attitude and a little more "I appreciate you choosing this place" attitude. I always tip well (no matter how many people I bring each staff member gets a good tip) so that can't be it! We are always inviting new people to come with us...Which means more money for the company...Yet we are treated like this!
Our mom often gets treated the worst and we speak up about the service she receives because we should...
You don't pick and choose who you want to provide excellent service to based on who you think will speak up about your wrong... or who you believe might be footing the bill....or who you feel will spend the most money getting services...
ย ย ย Read moreI was conflicted about writing this review because I typically don't like to leave bad ones, but this was my first bad experience in a nail salon and I am still upset about it.
This happened about a month ago. My friend and I wanted to get our nails done, something very simple. She just asked for sheer white, and her nail tech just started painting them white, she then gave me a look but was too shy to speak up, so I immediately told the nail tech nicely that this is not what she is wanting and if she could change it. the nail tech literally ignored me, I asked again, she ignored me again. Then my friend asked her, she also ignored her and just made an angry face. I had to tell my nail tech ( who was lovely) by the way, to tell her to stop and that this is not what she asked for. My friend mentioned how it's totally okay and that we can even pay extra for something else, but she kept going on about how my friend did not ask for the right thing. we proceeded to tell her that we specifically asked for a sheer white, even showed her a picture, and even said that "if we asked for the wrong thing, its fine we can pay extra for it to be fixed." Even after that, she got "management" and she proceeded to tell us that we didn't ask for the right thing and that what she wants on her nails will look ugly. My friend told her once again, "we don't care if we asked for the wrong thing, nor do we care if you think its ugly, we just want what we asked for and we still pay extra for it." The lady walked away and the nail tech started speaking in Vietnamese and walked away angrily, they gave us someone else to do our nails & a young boy, I think he was referred to as a "flammboyant manager" in another review, started taking off her nails. We were talking about our experience and he told us we could leave if we wanted, then I told him what had happened to us and he said he was sorry about that. My friend said she was going to write a review and he asked us not to do that if they were going to fix her nails. We still felt disrespected so we expressed that we will write one, but I did thank him for saying sorry to us. My nail tech was so sweet, but she couldnt get my color right, & it was a simple light pink so we decided to leave because nothing seemed to be working out. We shouldve left earlier but we were on a time crunch.
My first experience here was not bad, Randy did amazing!! SO maybe it depends on who is working here. I have never felt so disrespected to be ignored by someone that I am paying to do a...
ย ย ย Read moreI am definitely considered a regular here. Iโve been going to this nail shop for about 2 years. Only one person has ever done my nails and she is who i always request, so this review is mainly specifically for Lisa. I am very, very particular about my nails, especially the shape and foundation of my nails. I wear them medium to long in length, with a pointy almond shape. Lisa is wonderful! Not only is she super fast, but she delivers a great nail service. I only get acrylic color nails with powder. She is friendly and welcoming, she also does test nails before we get started so i can see what Iโm getting, ( you know the color can look different on the actual nail versus on the color nail board) AND when something is wrong she fixes it with no issue.
Over the 2 years Iโve been going, i had one issue with how much she charged for my length (itโs normally $10 Extra) & i get the same length each time. But On one instance, she charged $15 extra. At the time- i paid anyway but mentioned it the next time and she adjusted it. I never had that problem again.
This place itself is very cute, great choice of nail polish/powders/ and gel colors and brands to choose from. Iโm not a huge fan of the pedicures but Iโll leave that in a different review. The prices are comparable. The atmosphere is relaxing & clean & of course, they offer wine & cocktails. Parking is great & they offer a points system to get discounts off future services. I never have an issue getting an appointment and i usually do not ever have to waitโฆ if i do wait for Lisa, itโs no more than 15 mins but thatโs rare (only about 2-3 times in 2 years Iโve had to wait when i had an appointment)
Richard and Hannah are great! They run the front desk ( not sure what their official titles are) but they keep things flowing smoothly on a daily basis. The staff here really works together to keep the salon running beautifully. Richard always takes extra time to walk around and personally speak to everyone and asks if youโre doing okay. I love that. We all know customer service is on the decline these days, so the fact that i ONLY spend my money in THIS nail salon in such a big city like Dallas- is a huge deal! I would recommend anyone to come to this salon. If youโre coming for acrylic nails, I highly recommend LISA! Sheโs amazing!
Happy customer...
