Thank you Selda Mediterranean for an unforgettable dining experience. The food was delicious! With every bite, it continued to tantalize my taste buds and left me wanting more. Your staff was extremely helpful, caring, friendly and professional. From the minute that we sat down, your awesome team never skipped a beat. Our Sangrias, Selda’s Greek Yogurt Dressing on oil with Pita Bread was a great way to tease my taste buds. Then came the Turkish Sigara Borek pastry, it was just the right texture of flaky and crispiness stuffed with delicious cheese. The avocado sauce totally complimented the Sigara Borek pastry and the Halloumi cheese was to die for. It was lightly fried and served on a bed of roasted peppers, walnuts, and topped with pomegranate molasses. I was in heaven my friends. Then came our entrees. The Chicken Adana was amazing with just the right amount of spices. The Lamb Chops were juicy, tender and tasty. They are served on a bed of Turkish rice and a Salad Shirazi on steroids! I can’t believe that I was just introduced to this amazing restaurant. I grew up loving Mediterranean cuisine and I can honestly say that this experience took me back to a very special time in my life. Dearest readers, as a person who appreciates the ambience of a restaurant, and the people who make the experience memorable and unforgettable, this is definitely the place to be. The fact that the food is in a league of its own, doesn’t hurt either. I want to personally thank the following people who brought so much joy, warmth and kindness to our dining experience tonight. Volcan, it’s quite obvious that your amazing staff projects what comes from working with a person who exemplifies the same values, principles and ideals. It was quite awesome seeing them working together to create the same experience for each individual or group that would be seated. Once again, thank you Elias, Adrian, Indira, Esin, Mert and Mr. Volcan! You deserve all of the Stars in the Universe and I will definitely be...
Read moreI debated writing this review because I generally am pretty understanding and I know, having worked in restaurants for many years, and my family owning and operating restaurants, the impact a bad review can have overall. However, after a few days of thinking on it, I felt compelled to leave a note for the management of this restaurant. Two of my best friends and I came in on a busy Monday night. We waited to be sat for our reserved table (which is fine I don't mind waiting), but as we were waiting, a two top came in, clearly 'VIPS', clearly walk-ins, and was sat immediately at a 4 person table that had been empty since we arrived; then another couple came and was sat for a reservation time after us. Again, busy night, okay, fine. We get to the patio and it is packed. And windy. During the course of our dinner, which was going okay, but at a certain point a couple comes and sits on the patio and lights up two cigarettes while their SUPER loud dog sat and yelped in one of the chairs. You also can't help but be distracted by their huge propane heaters. The patio is warped, so they shake and are very unsturdy. The entire time other tables were asking the staff to shift them around and at one point we have about 4 of them within a foot of our table in the center of the patio. My friends and I were having a serious conversation and all of a sudden, one of the heaters quickly fell HARD onto my friend's back and her head. The fact that nothing caught fire on our table was an absolute miracle, but it definitely caused a scene and we had other guests asking if we were okay and checking on my friend, who kept insisting she was okay, but was, as we all were, in shock - however the pain hit her throughout the next few days. Once the heater was lifted off the table, not ONE person on the staff or the manager came to apologize or offer to move our table to another spot. What if it had been a baby, or an elderly person? SHAME ON management for this behavior, we expect...
Read moreAs a customer who has frequented this restaurant I was greatly disappointed in my most recent visit. Of all the restaurants in North Dallas I chose to celebrate Valentine's Day there. I was hoping there would be live music like there had been in the past but nope, there wasn't. The set menu seemed appealing until the food came out. The tapas arrived 15 minutes after we ordered which was fine. It took the 2 of us 10 minutes to devour them. While waiting for someone to take away our empty tapa dishes we finally started stacking them in hopes of getting the waitstaffs attention. Those dishes were finally removed when our main courses arrived (40 minutes after the tapas). When they did arrive they were room temperature and when I say room temp it could have been because all the doors to the restaurant were propped open. That evening the temp outside was 77 according to my phone. So yep, it was a bit muggy in there especially with the crowds of other folks around.
As for my main course, the lamb shank ended up looking and tasting more like pot roast but with chunks of raw, hard potato. We were served water with only 1 refill within 2 hours. We saw our actual waitress 2 times within those 2 hours. After an hour of waiting for our dessert we ended up having to get up out of our seats and ask for the check and our dessert to go. The dessert was panna cotta but looked more like a bland, homemade flan.
I always expect to pay at least $40 per meal per person plus a glass of wine but that night I have to say we did not get our money's worth at all. Clearly they were understaffed that night but the restaurant staff made no attempt to apologize for the huge delays in service. I sincerely regret the decision to go to this restaurant on Valentine's Day. Not sure if we'll...
