I do not want this post to take away from the wonderful server, Brittany. She was excellent. While we were dining and having conversation, the Manager, I assume (tall, blonde, suit coat) asks us how we doing; exchange pleasantries, and she moves on. She comes back… I’ll say in 10 minutes and told us we had to move. Now because you smile does not mean it’s any less unprofessional. She said, they had a reservation for the specific table. She then proceeded to tell us that we could have a table inside and she’d give us some drinks, but we had stayed our standard time and we needed to move…. Because someone was waiting for this specific table; even though, there were other available tables. The problem is not that we had to move because evidently, there’s a time limit (I find this crazy especially if you are ordering; spending money). This only happens in Dallas based on my experiences. However, she did not let us know, when she came the first time she came around with that fake smile. She could have said she was going to need the table in 10 minutes or whatever, so we could settle our tab and wrap it up. The manager, again, I assume, told us we had to go …. Now. It’s really incredible! However, we took our business elsewhere and had an amazing time. You’ll never who Is in your presence. Be careful how you treat strangers. Pretty disappointing. Just a simple, well need this table in 10 minutes...

Had a reservation at 8:45 for 2 ppl INSIDE. When we arrived they said there would be a 30 minute wait or we could sit outside. The patio had heaters so we tried to sit outside but it was 40 degrees and too cold. 5 mins after being sat on the patio we asked to move inside. Again we were told the wait would be no longer than 30 mins. We got greeted fairly quickly but our drinks took 20 minutes to come out. Then the one heater next to us ran out of propane. My espresso martini was watered down. You can tell it’s batched, watered down, and just not made properly. The host was very nice and replaced the propane tank. Almost an hour had gone by and we had just gotten our appetizer. At 10:30 we were finally moved inside for the table we were told would only take 30 mins. By the time our server came by it was last call for food because the kitchen was about to close. We were celebrating this evening and it just an awful experience. No manager was in sight to speak to....

This is NOT a 5 ⭐️ rating.

Food is always on point.. a few of the staff are clueless.

We went inside to request a seat outside. The server said she had to set some tables.

She came out with 4 tablecloths and proceeded to put them on every table EXCEPT the one we were waiting at. The first one was fine because there was a party of 2 ahead of us..after she was done with the other 3 tables around us, she asked if we wanted to "sit at one of the tables?"

My super sweet husband said we prefer thos one because it's in the sun.. she was annoyed..and got another table cloth.

So, either she's clueless, homophobic (because we are a gay couple), or doesn't like her job..

Then, she asked another server to take our table... maybe it wasn't her section.. but no need to treat customers like that.

In any case, the owner should know how thier business is...

I was very stoked for this place after seeing all the good reviews and hearing about it. The drinks were mid and the food was not good at all. Had the edamame with some pepper an midway through I realize they don’t taste like anything so I ask and they said they probably forgot to put the peppers in and just bring me a little plate of peppers. But the sushi looked amazing, well plated, but it was all mushy and flavorless. I’ve had better sushi at Tom Thumb. I might consider giving this place another try given the number of good reviews, but this initial experience did not leave me wanting to come back nor recommend it.

If you enjoy sushi, Anchor Sushi Bar is a fantastic spot!! The restaurant is clean, well designed and the staff is very helpful and friendly! Jose helped my wife and I at the bar with cocktails and apps + signature sushi rolls and wine. The specialty rolls are unique and have great taste with lots of different flavors, using very fresh seafood and ingredients. Definitely try their Anchor Roll if you like citrus and cilantro. The Best Roll - is also excellent! If you're in the mood for some spice, the Spicy Sinatra Roll is great!! No matter what you order, you will be happy here. Can't wait to go back again!
