My recent dining experience at Mami Coco, the charming Mexican restaurant, left me utterly delighted and craving more. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and an inviting atmosphere that set the stage for an unforgettable meal.
The highlight of my visit had to be the Barbacoa, an absolute masterpiece. The tender, succulent meat practically melted in my mouth, bursting with rich, savory flavors that spoke of careful preparation and a dedication to authentic Mexican cuisine. It was, without a doubt, the best Barbacoa I've ever had the pleasure of savoring.
But Mami Coco offers more than just exceptional Barbacoa; their menu is a culinary adventure that takes your taste buds on a journey through the diverse flavors of Mexico. From the zesty salsas to the perfectly crafted tacos and enchiladas, each dish was a testament to the chef's skill and commitment to quality.
The ambiance at Mami Coco adds another layer of charm to the dining experience. The décor, reminiscent of a traditional Mexican cantina, created a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that made me feel right at home.
The attentive and friendly staff at Mami Coco ensured that my dining experience was nothing short of exceptional. They were eager to share their knowledge about the dishes and make recommendations based on personal preferences.
In conclusion, Mami Coco is a hidden gem in the world of Mexican cuisine. If you're in search of authentic flavors, a warm atmosphere, and, of course, the most amazing Barbacoa, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. My visit was an absolute delight, and I can't wait to return to Mami Coco for another mouthwatering...
Read moreSmall place with a big punch. Went by after it was recommended by an acquaintance. I was told it was small but I was caught off guard .When you walk in there's a bar attached to a wall and then there's a counter parallel to the bar and thats all you get .Very tight squeeze especially when the bar was full (4 maybe 5 seats total) so it might be a good idea to call ahead and just pick up.
Menu is small, but good variety of meat selections. I went with 2 chicharron tacos and 2 tripas. The chicharron is the FIRST prensado Ive had thats dry and not in a sauce, and it was amazing. Not sure if its made in-house or pre purchased elswhere but its off the chain. With a little lime and some green salsa they were perfect. The tripas are also cooked perfectly. Soft from being slow simmered not boiled, then they are placed on the flat top to get whatever desired crisp you wish. They have great flavor and its noticeable that whoevered prepared them cares to serve good food not just trying to make casharoni. Green salsa is the classic creamy green with not much of a kick just good flavor, and the red salsa is the one that has a little more fire with equally good flavor.
With those two items being so good its going to be hard to try any other menu items but I will make an attempt next time im in the area. Carroll St is a power-house street for good tacos and this place can...
Read moreIt’s been awhile since I’ve been able to find a place that reminds me of the street tacos I grew up with back in CA. I’m not much of a Tex-Mex person, so it’s been a little far and few in between since we’ve lived in TX where we’ve been able to find actual street tacos that we actually liked. This place did not disappoint! Thanks to the power of social media, this was a high recommended place and the best part… we didn’t have to wait until noon to enjoy tacos!
Although their hours said 10am, be prepared to wait a little while because it doesn’t seem like they were quite prepared at 10am. I had placed an online order and it said it would be ready for pick up by 10:30, and unfortunately we didn’t get our food until close to 11.
Nonetheless, the food made up for it. We an order of the Chicken Flautas which were delicious! It’s loaded with fresh veggies and their salsa paired perfectly with it. Then of course got the street tacos (Cabeza, Pastor, Mix Fajita & Bistek, and Tripas y Lengua). All were amazing! They did not skimp on the meat, and I love that we didn’t have to request for fresh onions & cilantro like we’ve had to do in the past.
Meats Ranked from Best to Least: Tripas y Lengua Cabeza Pastor Fajita & Bistek
Regardless of their rank, we will most definitely be back for more...
