Old Navy — Local services in Daly City

NEW & IMPROVED!!... Never been to this location before and it's so nice with a great selection and some wonderful wonderful savings! Nearly everything in the store is on sale at. I came into the store to exchange an online purchase, and so I wanted to find something that would have the same original price as the two items I was returning. I knew that the pair of pants I was exchanging for a smaller size was available because I called ahead and have them set that aside for me. That was one down! After that I started to peruse the aisles looking for an item that would be the original price of the blouse I was returning, but because everything is on sale, I have trouble finding something suitable for a substitution. The woman at the end of the counter, whose name escapes me at the moment but she's been there 20 years, helped direct me to items that might be in that price point. As I was looking for something in the areas that she directed me over to, I unfortunately stumbled upon some great savings on a few things I did not come in the store for... Oops! Luckily however they were all on clearance/sale, and they fit perfectly! So, I went away spending about $27 more than my original purchase but got two blouses (one that was only $5.47 & hanging on some stock fixture where I was standing in line... It called out my name! LOL), and also got a pair of spruce green pants for the holidays! I finally stumbled upon a plaid flannel shirt that I wanted in place of the blouse I was returning and headed for the counter to check out.

So the woman who had helped me earlier told me to come to her check out when I got to the place in line where I'd be the next customer. She tried to return the 2 items that I had received from online shopping, and they didn't come up in the system. As she didn't know what was happening, she called over the general manager who said, "Just do an even exchange!" So, she did so and then rang up my other items and then upon everything else she just gave me a bag, at no charge.

the customer service at the store is remarkable. The people are friendly, the store is clean, a wonderful selection, and much more than I've seen in some of the other stores. The woman behind the counter display that the store is relatively new And this is why it is the way it is. The store is decent it looked a mess when I shopped there recently in the morning. I was very disappointed with staff watching my every move in the store. Everytime I moved it was some sales associate peeking or darting around a corner it was annoying. I didn't have any large bags, purse or anything that made me look shady. Everything was completely picked thru except the boys section where I was. The selection of boys t-shirts was nice and on sale. Girls area looked AWFULLY MESSY. Not much to pick from and no associate help to ask questions to. I felt very much spied on it made my whole shopping experience with this store very UNCOMFORTABLE to say the least. I did have a really nice young man as my cashier he was the highlight of my trip. He spoke and made eye contact, asked me questions and respected me not because of color or items I purchased. I felt seen by him and I appreciated that. The female manager and other associates were watching me like a foreign species. There was no checking on me, no help to find me anything just watching me. Going forward I will think twice about shopping here. I definitely didn't like how I felt or my watchful eye shopping experience. Not all blacks steal, or snatch n grab. I worked all my life and still do. My money spends the same as anyone else's. Too bad I didn't feel that during my trip. I had to dig; i was looking for cheap lounge clothes/joggers, and there's a great selection of clearance on the third floor but it gets pretty mixed up (the sizes). Many fullpriced items end up in the clearance while many of the clearance items aren't marked as such; it's quite a process, taking everything to the price checker before u try it on. I found a few things but it felt like I was in there for hours! The place is a zoo, tho, and the staff is always very courteous.
