203 Exotics — Local services in Danbury

I've loved this place for years when I discovered it at the Danbury Mall. Sadly, for a person who lives in New Haven, the trip, while worth it, is quite taxing on time. So when 203 Exotics dropped their new website I was ECSTATIC to say the least. The shopping was easy to browse and even more helpful than in store because I can understand the flavors a bit better. Not to mention you can sign up for "back in stock" options (which was how I scored the last chip challenge finally!). Free shipping on orders over a certain amount (which is easy to hit given how much interesting and exciting things they have). I was concerned about ordering drinks through the mail as my mailman couldn't give an ish on handling with care, but 203 packed my box like with enough care to spare, making sure the drinks were bubble wrapped and tightly packed.

Furthermore, the in store experience is great as well. Staff is always welcoming, helpful and accommodating. In the past we have stocked up on our long trips back but I'm a soda fiend, always after new flavors. But a cold drink will go warm by the time we get home. Thankfully, when they have some drinks in stock that haven't been refrigerated yet, they're happy to get them for you so they don't get skunked. I can't say enough good things about this business. The first time I went to 203Exotics, it was empty with only one employee working. He looked bored and was scrolling around on his phone so I went in to buy something, but he was so preoccupied and rude. No wonder the store was empty! I made a purchase regardless, but he was quick to scoot me back out the door.

I went in later that week, deciding to give the store the benefit of the doubt. This time, I had exceptional service from a different employee who had a lot more enthusiasm and even gave me a ton of suggestions on different products (bonus points for the cool tattoo sleeves). I ended up finding more options that I really liked too.

The following week the other employee was there again, but with his girlfriend. It looked like a deadzone again and it seemed like they were having a heated argument so I just kept on walking right past the store. Too much drama when I just want snacks.

I think it was the next day after that, the one working there was the owner. I didn't want to mention my experience with his other employee however.

I can only give 3 stars though, because I've only gotten exceptional service from the girl with the tattoos and the owner. My polarized experience with the guy and his girlfriend though has made a hefty impact on my overall review. I feel like I have to avoid this store most days out of the week and wait for the days when the better employees...

I'll Wait. 203 Exotics Completely Deserves The Recognition It Has Earned, From Being Mentioned On i95 Rock By Large Dave, Too Having A TikTok Video Gone Viral. The Owner Mike Takes His Time And Shows That He Really Does Care For All Of Your Snack Wants, Desires, & Needs.
